Bible Verse of The Day – 4-17-12

(1 John 4:11 KJV) Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.

This is something that we really have to understand and get it, to the point where we can overlook the mistakes and error of others, just as God does for us.

As Jesus hung on the cross, in pain and agony, He still continued to love us and ask forgiveness for us, including those who were crucifying Him. (Luke 23:34 KJV)  Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do.

As God’s children, we have to learn that if we have a hard time saying and doing the right things when we are suffering or feeling hurt, this is a good time to ask God to help us to have the strength and wisdom to continue to love, in spite of what we are feeling.

If we only love someone that is kind and generous to us, how hard is that? (Luke 6:32 NKJV)  “But if you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them.

If we can love our enemy, now that’s what God’s talking about. You want to see some heads turn? When someone is trying to tear us apart or get us fired, or cause chaos in our life, wouldn’t it be something if we then said something nice to them? Maybe even gave them a gift or offered a helping hand to them?

His love for us is perfect and all that we need. Let us share it with others. Let’s make a difference!

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-16-12

(Mat 16:15-16 NKJV)  He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” {16} Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

I wonder if Peter really, truly understood what he was saying when he answered Jesus. I honestly believe that he didn’t fully comprehend what he was saying, simply because it wasn’t his intellect that revealed this to him, but God alone.

Had he truly understood it, would he still have denied Jesus at the time of his capture and the beatings leading up to the crucifixion?

What about us? Do we truly, truly understand who Jesus is?

I often think that we don’t fully, 100% comprehend who Jesus is. If we did, would we do some of the things that we do, or say some of the things that we say? Would we stop and think twice before making a bad choice or a wrong decision that leads us into sin, if we really, truly understood who He is?

Ask God to reveal Jesus to you in a new way and at a new depth and watch how He changes you from the inside, out.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-14-12

(2 Tim 2:13 NKJV)  If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself.

God is absolute. He is the only absolute in this shaky world that we live in.

We have all been and will continue to be unfaithful, in one way or another. But God will never be unfaithful.

Even when we have been faithless and have acted as though He isn’t there, He is steadfast and solid. He cannot deny Himself. It’s impossible.

Are you on shaky ground today? Does it seem like the world is crumbling around you? Have you done things or said things that you regret and wish you could take back? Does it maybe even feel like you’ve abandoned God and your faith in Him?

Rest in knowing that he has not turned His back on you, regardless of what you might have said or done. He is faithful. He’s right where we left Him, waiting for us to turn back to Him.

Don’t wait another minute. Turn back to Him right now and fall into His open arms of mercy, compassion and forgiveness.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-13-12

(Heb 4:15 NKJV)  For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.

Jesus walked this earth as a human being. Despite being deity, He left His throne to be born of a woman and live a life of humanity.

He experienced everything that we experience; pain, temptation, sadness, joy and much more. He understands what we feel each day, as we walk through trials and triumphs in our lives.

He had every opportunity to sin… to walk away from His purpose. Yet, He chose not to sin. Instead, He chose to fulfill His purpose here on earth and die in our place.

He walked this earth blameless and sinless, despite being human. Some people might try to say that this was because He was God and man all rolled into one. But the Word of God makes it clear that He was tempted and could have chosen to sin.

What an incredible gift we have been given, to know that Jesus loved us so much that He chose to fulfill His purpose and die in our place, offering us forgiveness for our sins.

We are truly a blessed people to have received such a gift from God.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-12-12

(Eph 5:33 NKJV)  Nevertheless let each one of you in particular so love his own wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.

Love and respect are the key words in this verse to keeping a good marriage.

Marriage is a beautiful thing that God has blessed us with. There is nothing like spending your life with someone that you love and respect. Growing together, learning each others likes and dislikes, spending time helping each other and learning from each other; these are all wonderful things as we look at them with the right heart.

Don’t ever go into a marriage thinking you are going to change that person that you want to marry. We can’t change anyone if they don’t see the need or the want to change.

Men; go into a marriage knowing that you are going to love that person no matter what.

Women; you go into that marriage with respect toward your man.

There are times I’m sure, in any marriage, when you will have your ups and downs, but you WORK it out. Marriage takes work on both ends.

Keep it balanced. If one person is doing all the work trying to hold things together and the other is not doing his/her part the marriage will be unbalanced and problems will come. Stay balanced; work together as a husband and wife should, loving and respecting…you will have a wonderful time together.

Marriage is a blessing!!

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-11-12

(1 Pet 3:12 KJV)  For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.

God watches over us. We don’t have to worry. We just have to follow, listen and obey.

There is always going to be something that will try to pull on us, distract us and try to take our focus off the important things that we need to get done in a day. It will try to cause us to be so busy and so overwhelmed that we can’t even move, instead we are exhausted from our thoughts of trying to figure out how we are going to complete the things that we need to get done.

Before we start our day, ask God to give us His sound mind, and help us to focus and get done the things we need to get done in that day. His eyes are over us, His ears are open to us…Let Him guide us!!

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-10-12

(1 John 4:1 NKJV)  Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

A few days ago we did a short teaching about religious spirits. We talked about how even demonic spirits can speak words of truth. Over the years we have personally witnessed religious spirits at work in many different situations.

We have seen them tear churches apart from within and lead godly people to do the very things that they spoken out against. And yet these very people who had taught against these demonic powers became victims of them.

Religious spirits hide themselves well, right in plain sight. They will look, sound and act like the spirit of God in so many ways and then they will slowly lead a person on to a path of destruction. And most times, that person won’t know it until it’s too late and they have made choices that can destroy their life and the lives of others.

While this is a subject that is too in depth to cover thoroughly in a short teaching such as this, let us tell you some of the things to be aware of when it comes to discerning some religious spirits.

A spirit of religion will run a path that’s very close to the path of God’s spirit. But it will vary just enough to eventually lead to destruction. Test what you hear and read by comparing it to the Word of God. Does it line up or does it stray, even just a little bit?

Religious spirits will display pride, especially in their accomplishments. They will become arrogant in their thinking. They will boast in their associations with people of social status. Religious spirits will think they are invincible and indestructible… that nobody can stop them.

Let God give you discernment when it comes to the people around you and even those who you receive teaching from. TEST THE SPIRITS! God forewarned us so we would not fall victim to these sly spirits.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-9-12

(Mat 18:11 NKJV)  “For the Son of Man has come to save that which was lost.

I’d like to speak to anyone out there today who is searching, seeking, trying to find the truth.

Jesus, the Christ, the Messiah, came to save that those who are lost. He came to this earth as a man, feeling everything we feel, experiencing pain, heartbreak, betrayal, and every other emotion we experience in our lives.

He was tempted just as we are, yet He never gave in. He had the opportunity to sin each and every day, yet He chose to remain sinless.

He had the opportunity to turn His back on the mission set before Him, and walk away from the death that would pay the price for our sins, but yet He chose to love us so much, and be obedient in His purpose, even to die on a cross for each and every one of us.

If you’ve been seeking the truth, look no further. Jesus is the truth. He took my sin and yours upon His own body and washed them away with His blood.

And then on top of all that, He rose from the grave and defeated death, hell and the grave so that we can all be assured of eternal life. All we need to do is reach out and take it.

Reach out to Him right now. Accept His offer of salvation… everlasting life, in exchange for taking your past life and your past sins away from you. It’s not difficult to do and there is no sin too big for Him to take away. Just do it, right now.

Accept His offer of grace and mercy and then write to us to tell us. We want to share in your new life and your excitement!

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-7-12

(Acts 16:16-18 NKJV)  Now it happened, as we went to prayer, that a certain slave girl possessed with a spirit of divination met us, who brought her masters much profit by fortune-telling. {17} This girl followed Paul and us, and cried out, saying, “These men are the servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to us the way of salvation.” {18} And this she did for many days. But Paul, greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit, “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her.” And he came out that very hour.

Have you ever heard of a religious spirit? Whether you have or not, please pay close attention to these words.

Religious spirits come to us to deceive us. They look, sound and act like the real thing (the Holy Spirit), but they are not of God. They will speak words that are true in order to convince us that they are from God, but they are evil in their purpose.

In the scriptures above, this woman was inhabited by a religious spirit… a demon. This demon spoke words that were true. He proclaimed that the words Paul was speaking were true and that Paul taught the way to salvation.

Was this true? Absolutely. But why did it annoy Paul to the point where he cast it out of the girl? Because he discerned that this was not the spirit of God, but a spirit of divination and he knew that it had to leave if he told it to do so.

Many of us come into contact with religious spirits on a regular basis but never realize it. They speak to us from various sources. Many of them are even in the church!

This is not meant to freak anyone out or make you paranoid, but it’s high time for the body of Christ to get razor-sharp discernment and understand the realities of the spiritual world.

Much of what we see each day is the result of something spiritual, whether it’s God’s spirit or a demonic spirit. It’s up to us to distinguish between the two.

If a religious spirit was to come before us right now, would we be able to discern it correctly? Just some food for thought!

We wish each and every one of you a very happy resurrection day!

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-6-12

(Gal 6:9 KJV)  And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

How many of us are in a challenging season right now?

Everything in us is saying “when is this ever going to change? When will I get my raise? When will these people stop with their gossip about me? When will my child respect me and listen to what I have to say? When will my spouse pay attention to me? When, when when?”

Don’t give up… faint NOT! Don’t even entertain these thoughts. When they come at you, you come right back with “IN DUE SEASON”, because that’s what God says!!

Repeat these words: “In Due SEASON we shall REAP”.

We claim this promise over your situations today.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-5-12

(Acts 2:28 NKJV)  You have made known to me the ways of life; You will make me full of joy in Your presence.’

God has made known to us the ways of life. He has poured Himself out as a sacrifice for us, through His only Son, Jesus Christ.

I’d like each and every one of us to meditate on that, even for just a moment. This is life-changing stuff!

The God of heaven and earth, the Creator of all we see, the Giver of life, came down from heaven in the form of a man and walked among us to make known the ways of life, so that we might have true life.

This is truly life-changing in every aspect of those words. We have been bought with a price. And as I have said before, it was a very high price that was paid for each and every one of us.

I know these might seem like somber words and at first they might not seem very cheerful or encouraging, but the exact opposite is true! These words are demonstrating how much God loved us and how He gave us new life!

As you walk through this day, do so knowing that God loved you enough to make known to you the ways of life.
