Bible Verse of The Day – 6-19-18

Mark 12:30 (NKJV) 30 And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment.

This commandment comes first for a very good reason. If we can love God like this, nothing can stop us from being in His will.

Our heart, soul, mind, strength; These are the very parts of us that help us to conquer and make right decisions. Loving God with all our strength will help us to be able to physically and mentally take the steps He’s ordering for us.

If we can learn to love Him in such a way, this love will bless our hearts, our lives, and our whole beings. We will walk daily in His will and His blessings for us.

A good test for us to try is to ask ourselves where we are right now in our walk with Him. Can we say that we are loving Him this way? If not, don’t give up or get discouraged. Look at what we are doing and where the changes need to come. Ask God to help us make the adjustments.

Obedience comes through love. So we need to make sure we love Him more than the activities we participate in. Love Him more than wealth, more than work, more then titles, alcohol, drugs, spending money, traveling, and love Him more than we love ourselves and others. Our love for Him must be first.

If we love Him more, we will put Him first. And His commandments will not be burdensome.

1 John 5:3 (NKJV) 3 For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome.

LOVE activates obedience.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-18-18

Galatians 6:14 (NKJV) 14 But God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.

Self-confidence. Self-esteem. Self-assurance. Self-respect.

We hear a lot about all of these attributes these days. Self-esteem has become a big deal, even in the church.

While there is some merit in what is being taught, most of it is quite backwards. The idea of self-esteem is that we need to think highly of ourselves, have faith in ourselves, depend on ourselves for everything, knowing that we can do it all.

God has created us with skills, talents, abilities and much more. We do have a lot within ourselves. But it’s not because of anything we have done. We have these things because of who God is and what He has done.

What we do with what God has given us is totally up to us. God gives us the freedom to choose. But whatever we choose to do, we need to always be careful to give Him the glory and the honor for it. As soon as we start taking the credit for ourselves, we are headed for trouble.

So, what we need to remember is that it is through Christ that we can do all things, not by our own strength or understanding, especially relating to the kingdom of God.

Philippians 4:13 (NKJV) 13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

And when we begin operating solely on our own strength and our own understanding, we will almost always end up off track, scrambling later on to fix our mistakes.

 Proverbs 3:5 (NKJV) 5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding;

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-17-18 – The Ark and the Glory

The Ark and The Glory - Click to watch the video now.Greetings in the name of Jesus!

The ark of the covenant was very important to God’s people, Israel. For them it represented the presence of God among them.

But what does the ark mean to us today? What kind of parallels can be drawn between the ark and the Holy Spirit?

Today’s video discusses this very thing, and we think you’ll find it very interesting.

Please click here to watch the video now.

Samuel led the Israelites for a long season, and he was very loyal to God. He helped Israel see when they had strayed away from God.

Please click here to watch the video now.

We hope you’ll watch and hear how what Samuel said to Israel relates very closely to what God is saying to us today, thousands of years later.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-16-18

Romans 8:31 (NKJV) 31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

Enjoy the Lord. It’s a wonderful blessing to know that God is for us!

When we wake up every day knowing that we have Someone like Him for us, how can we worry? Worry and fret should not even enter our mind. The God of this universe is FOR us. Amen.

When someone is for us, that means they’re going to do whatever it takes to help us in whatever area we need them to.

Knowing this and still worrying about things, shows us we are not understanding it completely.

The only time we should be concerned is if we are not doing our part; If we are not obeying God with the things He is asking us to do.

We must take Him and His commandments seriously. Are we going to be perfect? No. But we have to be trying to get it right, the best that we can, and don’t let up and go back to the way we were if we mess up.

As long as we are working toward the goal, continuing to fight the good fight, God sees our hearts and He will be there for us.

2 Timothy 4:7 (NKJV) 7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-15-18

Mark 9:23 (NKJV) 23 Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”

Believing in what God tells us is the first step toward receiving. But there is more to it than just believing. We must not stop there.

Sometimes God will give what we need in steps. He may do His step first, then He may show us a step to take. Some things come in lots of steps. So, don’t lose hope. But be patient.

Patience is a big part of receiving God’s answers or plans for our situation. If we try to force something to happen, it will not turn out the same or be complete, the way it would be if we let God move on our behalf.

James 1:4 (NKJV) 4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.

So many times, God will show us what He would like to do in our situation. And if we are not careful, our first reaction will ruin God’s plan quickly. Why? Because we step out on our own and we try to do it all in the natural.

But there are things in the spiritual realm that need to be tended to first and foremost, and only God can show us what that is and how to do it.

We have to remember that there is an enemy, a devil, that roams around and wants to take us out. He wants to kill and destroy anything that’s good.

Just as King Herod was after the baby Jesus, he had all the babies killed. Why? Because something great and something GOOD was coming!!

The devil doesn’t like good. He moved through the heart of Herod and brought destruction to all those little babies. His goal was to kill Jesus, which would kill God’s plan.

Matthew 2:16 (NKJV) 16 Then Herod, when he saw that he was deceived by the wise men, was exceedingly angry; and he sent forth and put to death all the male children who were in Bethlehem and in all its districts, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had determined from the wise men.

He will try and take out anything that is going to be good for us too. He is the enemy that we battle against!

We need the Holy Spirit to help us receive the things that God has spoken to us. He will help us to hold onto our faith. He will help us know the direction we need to go. And He will help us to keep our mind sound and focused.

There are a lot of people in the middle of a battle right now, tired and having no idea what step to take next. It’s not over for you. God is saying, “you will win if you surrender it to Me and listen. I will take you all the way.”

If this is you today, we want you to write or call us, and we will pray with you and stand in agreement for God to take you “the rest of the way through”. As you surrender it completely to Him, and follow His direction, you will come out on the other side of this war. Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-14-18

Matthew 18:2-3 (NKJV) 2 Then Jesus called a little child to Him, set him in the midst of them, 3 and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.

We often hear the phrase “childlike faith”. Truthfully, though, the actual phrase “childlike faith” is not found anywhere in the Bible.

Despite that fact, the principle of childlike faith really is there in the verses above.

Jesus called a little child over to Him and used children to make a point; unless we are converted and “become like little children”, we will never enter into the kingdom of God.

To the casual observer, this might not seem like much. But, honestly, this is a very deep, extremely important Biblical truth.

What does this mean and why is it so important to our walk with God?

Because God wants us to look to Him and trust Him as a little child trusts their earthly father.

Think about it. As children grow up, they trust their parents without reservation and without fear. They just know that if they have a need that it will be met. If they are hurting, they will be comforted. If they are hungry, they will be fed. If they are cold, they will be warmed up.

As we grow up, we learn to become self-sufficient. We no longer depend on our parents. We take care of ourselves. We provide for ourselves and our needs.

Sadly, we also tend to do this with God. We grow up as believers and we tend to leave Him behind because we think we have everything it takes to live our lives. But this isn’t how He intends it to be.

God wants us to look to Him just as we looked to our earthly parents when we were small children, trusting Him for absolutely everything about our lives.

He wants us to let Him supply our needs, to comfort us when we’re hurting and to feed us when we’re hungry.

This doesn’t mean that we simply sit back and wait for God to do everything for us. It means that we look to Him to lead us and show us which way to go and how to do what is needed to accomplish the things that need to be accomplished in order for us to be nurtured, cared for, sustained and comforted.

As adults, this takes a lot of practice. It requires us to allow God to tear down all of the walls that we have built between us and Him. It requires that we stop trying to be so self-sufficient, trying to handle everything ourselves, even as He is reaching out and trying to help us.

But as we take the time to get into His word and let His word get into us, He will begin to undo all of the fears and hang-ups that we have that cause us not to trust Him.

And instead, He will teach us how to trust Him as a child trusts their earthly parents, with no hesitation and no reservations.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-13-18

1 Corinthians 13:4-7 (NKJV) 4 Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; 5 does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; 6 does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

This is God’s definition of LOVE. We should hang this up on our mirror and memorize it. Study it and take it wherever we go, because it is guaranteed that we will need to put it to practice throughout the day.

When we are standing in that line at the grocery store, and someone in front of us is taking way longer than we think they should, and we are on a schedule. That’s a good time to be reciting these verses and remember how God says to act.

When we are dealing with a family member, and they are not doing things the way they know they should be. Another good time to repeat it to ourselves.

When we are at work, and our coworker, employer, or employees, are not doing their share and we seem to end up with the brunt of the workload. This is very hard, but we need to remember these verses.

These scriptures do not leave anything out. There are many different situations that we run into where we will have to put these verses into practice. Love endures patiently, and many times it can be inconvenient and uncomfortable.

We may say, “well, I don’t have to love them. There are so many more people in this world that treat me better”.

And if we choose not to love them or show kindness, that’s our choice.

But, the Lord commanded us to love one another if we want to do His will and not just love those that treat us right or the ones we like to be around.

Romans 13:8 (NKJV) 8 Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-12-18

1 Thessalonians 5:18 (NKJV) 18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

Thank you, Lord, for your provision is always in the right timing and exactly what is needed.

Today as I reflect on the wonderful things God has done for us, I am reminded of how we really don’t have to worry about anything. Worrying wastes a lot of precious time.

When we worry, our mind gets caught up in the negative, the “what ifs”. It really takes away from thanking God for the things that He wants to do or has already done in our lives.

If we can thank God in times of trouble, famine, discomfort, bad reports, etc., we really do have an understanding of Who our Source is. Amen.

God will provide for us. That is not the question and we do not have to worry about that.

The question is, will we give Him a chance and begin to thank Him for His answer? Will we allow God to take the time that is needed? And during that time, will we continue to take the steps of obedience that God shows us individually, pertaining to each situation?

Start to thank Him today for His provision, and get things moving forward. Then take the steps He shows us, one day at a time. There is no time for worrying, only for thanking Him. Hallelujah!

Psalm 107:8 (NKJV) 8 Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, And for His wonderful works to the children of men!

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-11-18

Exodus 33:19 (NKJV) 19 Then He said, “I will make all My goodness pass before you, and I will proclaim the name of the Lord before you.

Let’s talk today about proclaiming, confessing and declaring. We did a video recently on this topic, but we want to make sure everyone understands this, so we decided to also do a devotional on it.

Proclaiming, Confessing and Declaring have become very commonplace in churches around the world. People have made a practice of confessing and declaring things as a way of “walking in faith”.

The problem with this, though, is that the Bible has never taught us to do this. It teaches us to confess our sins, confess that Jesus is Lord and to proclaim and declare the glory of God. Nowhere does it ever tell us to speak things and believe that doing so will make them happen.

Proclaiming, Confessing and Declaring in this manner has its roots in various New Age philosophies, not in the word of God. New Age teachings such as Name it & Claim it, Visualization and The Power of Positive Thinking have been teaching this for quite some time.

Somehow it found its way into the body of Christ as part of a “faith teaching”, convincing many people that if we speak things, they will become so. They will happen because we spoke them, by Proclaiming, Confessing and Declaring them to be so.

This is absolutely false. And it’s a very dangerous teaching. It has caused many in the church to elevate themselves, whether they realize it or not, acting in a prideful way, as satan did before he rebelled against God and was cast out of heaven.

Isaiah 14:14 (NKJV) 14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High.’

So, it’s important that we confess our sins to God and to one another, as the Word instructs us to do. And it’s important that we declare and proclaim the wonder and glory of God, as we are instructed to do.

But it’s critical that we refrain from proclaiming, confessing and declaring our personal desires “in faith’, believing that just because we have done so that it must happen.

James 5:16 (NKJV) 16 Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

Matthew 10:32 (NKJV) 32 “Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-9-18

John 12:26 (NKJV) 26 If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor.

Jesus is saying here, “if anyone serves Me, let him follow Me”.

Part of being a good servant is following Jesus. So, when we obey Him and we do the things He asks us to do in His word, we are serving Him. And when we do this, His Father, God Almighty, watches and He will honor us for it.

What a beautiful relationship we can have as we receive and follow Christ.

Jesus is not hard to love. Look at everything He is. Loving, kind, compassionate, faithful, sincere, forgiving! He heals, He delivers, He gives us eternal life, etc. What other person in our life will be all of this for us?

Following Jesus can be hard if we don’t truly want to surrender in certain areas of our life. But if we do surrender, it can be easy.

Matthew 11:30 (NKJV) 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
