Bible Verse of The Day – 3-9-24

Psalm 50:10-12 (NKJV) 10 For every beast of the forest is Mine, And the cattle on a thousand hills. 11 I know all the birds of the mountains, And the wild beasts of the field are Mine. 12 “If I were hungry, I would not tell you; For the world is Mine, and all its fullness.

God owns it all!

What can we give to Him who has everything?

The one thing that God loves is an obedient heart of praise; He loves to have our thanks and He loves to have our worship!

But how can we give Him such worship, praise and thanks if our heart is made of stone?

Ezekiel 36:26 (NKJV) 26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.

When we allow God to change us, He softens our heart by His word. He teaches us how to make righteous decisions.

As we call on Him, He will answer us, showing us great and mighty things that we do not know.

Jeremiah 33:3 (NKJV) 3 ‘Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’

For we have been created by Him to do good works. We are His workmanship!

Let us give Him praise today and worship Him from a heart that is truly grateful for Who He is and all that He has done!

Ephesians 2:10 (NKJV) 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-8-24

John 1:1-5 (NKJV) 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

Now that you have read those verses, take a minute, go back, and read them again.

But this time, take your time. Read them slowly, as though you have never seen them before.

Take the time needed to allow each word to penetrate. Allow God to speak to you through those words.

Try to process what they mean in their fullness.

If we were to read those words and try to understand them solely by our own intellect, they would mean nothing to us.

They would likely sound senseless.

Why is that?

Because they were inspired and written under the power of the Holy Spirit. They are words spoken by God Himself, to a human writer.

The depth of God’s word is sometimes beyond our comprehension. This can often cause us to skim right over it, completely missing the immense truth staring us in the face.

But this is where our reliance on God’s Spirit really starts to become obvious to us.

As we spend time in His word, we begin to see how dependent we truly are on Him to teach us and help us grow as His children.

Knowing this, it is critical for us to immerse ourselves in His word in a way that allows Him to use that word to transform us, changing the way we think and understand.

Doing this will surely challenge us intellectually, causing us to begin to rely more heavily on Him, and less on our human understanding.

And the change that He orchestrates in us will blow us away when we look back over time and see who we have become compared to who we once were.

Only by the power of God can this happen.

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-7-24

Isaiah 43:18-19 (NKJV) 18 “Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old. 19 Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert.

In these verses, Isaiah is telling Judah to forget (yes, forget), when she struggled to be a nation among nations.

God wanted to do a new thing!

How many of us are being held back because we can’t forget or let go of the things that we knew?

When God wants to do a new thing, we can’t take the former things with us. We must let go of or forget those old things. Forget the way things use to be.

When we hang onto the old, we can also be holding onto the hard times that may have left scars on us. Sometimes those struggles can keep us from ever wanting to step into a new thing again.

Why?

Because of the fear that we felt going through those struggles.

This can cause us to be afraid of making the wrong move again. We tend to hold onto these things because we don’t want to forget what we learned from it.

It’s funny how we can dislike the situation we are in, but not want to let it go either. We don’t like what it did to us, but yet some how we find comfort in its familiarity.

Letting go of the former things is a decision we have to make.

If we let it go, God can do a new thing! If we don’t, and we want to hold on tightly to the old, then we chose to stay where we are at

By not letting it go, we say “no” to God wanting to take us into a new thing.

Forget the former things. They have brought us as far as we can go. God has a new thing. Let Him work it in the ways that only He can!

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-6-24

Exodus 3:14 (NKJV) 14 And God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.” And He said, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’ ”

The sovereignty and majesty of God is truly beyond human comprehension.

Imagine the audacity of God when Moses asked Him who he should tell the Israelites had sent him to them, and God simply said, “I AM WHO I AM. Tell them I AM has sent me to you”.

But God has every right to be this audacious.

Why?

Because HE IS.

He WAS before everything else.

He spoke everything that is seen and unseen into existence

Imagine that for a moment. God spoke, and everything obeyed His voice, coming immediately into order.

The laws of physics were created by God.

Science does not disprove God.

On the contrary, science belongs to God, for He set all the absolutes in place that science relies on, even though many scientists deny His existence. God owns science.

Were it not for God, science would not exist. For science relies on what God established and put in order.

Day and night are because God spoke.

Moon phases and tides are because God spoke.

Seasons come and go faithfully each year because God spoke.

And the earth and other planets follow their orbit around the sun because God spoke and said it was so.

God spoke and chaos surrendered to order.

Let us not forget Who we serve, Who saved us, and Who holds everything we see in His hands, raising up kings and removing kings.

Psalm 24:8 (NKJV) 8 Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, The Lord mighty in battle.

It is God, the Lord Almighty.

Amen

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-5-24

Galatians 5:1 (NKJV) 1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.

Do you know we can put ourselves in bondage all over again if we don’t take the right steps in keeping ourselves free?

Now, we are not talking about us losing our salvation here. We are talking about sin that keeps us from growing in our relationship with Christ. Sin that puts distance between us and God.

Once God has set us free, we must put forth effort to keep that freedom.

Every day we get up we must make sure nothing puts us back into that same sin or bondage again.

We have to fight to keep our flesh from wanting to go back. Why? Because flesh loves routine, loves comfort, and it loves familiarity.

Sin is something that comes natural to us. We were all born sinners.

We have to remember before we were saved we were once used to conducting ourselves by the lust of our flesh. Now we must fight off the desires of our flesh and mind.

Ephesians 2:3 (NKJV) 3 among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.

It can be very hard to do at times.

However, when temptation comes (and it will come), remember that with the help of the Holy Spirit, and our desire not to fall into the same trap again, we can defeat the enemy and escape the temptation. God’s word tells us this!

1 Corinthians 10:13 (NKJV) 13 No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.

So, let us not fall back into the same bondage. Let us be completely free through the way of escape that God provides in that moment of great temptation!

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-4-24

Mark 10:7-9 (NKJV) 7 ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, 8 and the two shall become one flesh’; so then they are no longer two, but one flesh. 9 Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.”

The Biblical institution of marriage, holy matrimony, is one that so few can fully understand or comprehend in its deepest meaning.

Marriage is more than a man and woman being united by a ceremony.

Marriage, in its truest meaning, is symbolic of our union with God, being united with Him in purity and sanctification.

God’s intent for marriage was more than just mushy emotions and warm fuzzy feelings.

Marriage was intended to emulate the joining of our heart to God. It was intended to be holy and lifelong. And it was designed that the man would represent God being united with His bride, the body of Christ.

The physical intimacy between a man and woman was designed by God to be holy; symbolic of a pure, intimate relationship between God and the body of Christ.

And, just as a human marital relation is intended and designed to grow over time, to become stronger, so is our relationship with God designed to be.

Some marriages fail. But this is not due to any error or failure on God’s part. Humans are frail and fickle, and sometimes we just cannot seem to get things right.

But when a man and woman are married for a lengthy period of time, and they give the relationship the time and attention it is due, that relationship flourishes. And the two become more united.

This is more than just a physical, sexual bond.

The couple becomes one emotionally, learning and growing to understand each other better as they spend more years together.

And it is this growing union that causes such distress when one of the two leaves this earth and moves on to eternity.

There is a brokenness that takes place in the remaining spouse that words can never sufficiently describe. Anyone reading this who has walked through it will agree wholeheartedly. You may even be nodding in agreement as you read these words.

Some may struggle deeply with their loss, fighting to hold on to their desire to live.

Others may express anger with God for taking their spouse.

But in the end, it is God who gives us the hope and the strength to push through the trauma of our loss, if we allow Him to help us.

If you are married, we encourage you, both husband and wife, to give your marriage 110%. Every relationship is worth the effort required to make it work.

And if you are one who was married for a long time, and you have lost your spouse, we speak life and healing into your broken heart, in the name of Jesus.

May you look to Him for your solace, your healing, and your recovery as you pick up the pieces and move forward one step at a time.

We love you all.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-2-24

John 7:5 (NKJV) 5 For even His brothers did not believe in Him.

Sometimes those closest to us can be the hardest to deal with when we are trying to walk out God’s call on our lives. They can honestly be a hinderance with the things they say or think about us.

They look at us like we have 3 heads and have come from another planet, saying things like, “you’re not who you think you are”, reminding us constantly of our past or who they knew us to be.

Psalm 69:8 (NKJV) 8 I have become a stranger to my brothers, And an alien to my mother’s children…

If we are not careful, their words will penetrate and make us doubt or second-guess who we have become.

Don’t stop changing because family or close friends are uncomfortable with the changes that have taken place in us.

Some will fight and argue with us till the end; many times those who we would never expect. They act as though we have betrayed them.

Micah 7:6 (NKJV) 6 For son dishonors father, Daughter rises against her mother, Daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; A man’s enemies are the men of his own household.

The thing about people that are close to us is that they are too familiar with us. They find it hard to accept us any other way than how we used to be.

They know what they know, and this makes it difficult for them to see us changing.

It’s almost better to distance ourselves from these friends or siblings if it becomes a constant battle for us.

Matthew 13:55 (NKJV) 55 Is this not the carpenter’s son? Is not His mother called Mary? And His brothers James, Joses, Simon, and Judas?

When change comes and we begin to walk in the things of the Lord vs the things we’re used to doing, those familiar people will accuse us, persecute us, talk down to us and think we are nuts.

Mark 3:21 (NKJV) 21 But when His own people heard about this, they went out to lay hold of Him, for they said, “He is out of His mind.”

We can honestly say some will never accept what God is doing in our lives. They will try to talk us out of it instead of supporting and encouraging us.

Remember, even Jesus’ brothers didn’t believe in Him.

Some of those who are close will not believe us either. We can’t let it get to us.

Keep pressing on. For there will be those who will respect and welcome what the Holy Spirit is doing in and through us.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-1-24

Matthew 22:35-40 (NKJV) 35 Then one of them, a lawyer, asked Him a question, testing Him, and saying, 36 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?” 37 Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”

A lawyer asked Jesus a question that he believed would be difficult for Him to answer.

He was hoping to get Jesus to stumble, so the religious leaders could prove He was a false teacher.

But Jesus never blinked, answering his question effortlessly and with precision.

What Jesus told him is something we should all pay close attention to.

Why?

Because of those last few words that Jesus spoke; On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.

You see, what He said goes way beyond the Mosaic Law. It is the foundation of everything in God’s word.

First, “love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind”.

Put God first in everything. Simple and straight forward.

Second, “love your neighbor as yourself”.

The first is obvious. Putting God above all else should be easy for any of us to recognize as our most important priority.

The second one, though, may seem a bit more complicated once we understand the depth of it.

Loving our neighbor as ourselves sounds very easy and straight forward, right?

And it is, in principle. But the real-life application of that principle can confound the kindest of people when the rubber meets the road.

Loving others is one of the most difficult things we can be told we need to do.

Think about the person who cuts you off in traffic and causes you to nearly lose control of your vehicle.

Picture the person who purposely insults you or someone you love.

Think about the child who physically beat you up for no reason when you were a kid in school, making a mockery of you in front of all your schoolmates.

Consider the one who bullies your child.

Or ponder the situation when your elderly parent was assaulted and robbed by a wayward teenager.

Do any of those things make your blood boil, or cause you to bristle up just thinking about them?

That is exactly what I was referring to when I stated that loving others is the most difficult thing we will ever be told we need to do.

It is easy to love those who love us. But loving those who do us wrong is exponentially more difficult.

Yet, Jesus told us that this is second only to loving God.

Food for thought as we go through our day today.

Matthew 5:44-45 (NKJV) 44 But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, 45 that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.
