My Bible Verse of the Day – 6-15-22

James 1:19 (NKJV) 19 So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath…

Words are many.

We all speak. We all have things to say. Some more than others.

But it’s important to understand that we learn so much more by listening than we do by speaking.

There are times when it is required that we speak. So, when that is the case, let us be careful with the words that we speak.

Let us not speak simply because there is an opportunity to do so. Let us use wisdom and discernment, so as to be careful to speak the words that God would have us to speak.

Speaking swiftly is not always the best practice. Nor is speaking out of anger or frustration.

Let us contemplate our words and the consequences of them. For the things that we say can never be retracted, nor can the effects or repercussions of those words be easily undone.

Do we wish to be wise? Let us learn to listen and discern. And then let us speak gracefully, with patience and Holy Spirit-led timing and understanding.

And, most of all, let us hear! For without hearing, we will never grow.

Ecclesiastes 3:7 (NKJV) 7 … A time to keep silence, And a time to speak…

God, we ask you to help us to know when to speak and when to be silent. Amen

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-14-22

Jeremiah 33:6 (NKJV) 6 Behold, I will bring it health and healing; I will heal them and reveal to them the abundance of peace and truth.

Because of wickedness that took place in Judah, God hid His face from them.

How sad this is. I would never want this to happen to us, His people, today.

But if we look at our situation, and the state which we are currently in as a whole, we have to ask ourselves, “are we in a similar place?”.

How far away from Him have we strayed? Did we not take a stance on certain things when we should have?

Did we not push at all to get or do what was just and right, to keep God at the forefront of our country, of our home, of our church?

We cry out to You today, God. We need You!

After punishment and repentance, healing will come. God said to Jeremiah that He would rebuild them as they were before.

Jeremiah 33:7-8 (NIV) 7 I will bring Judah and Israel back from captivity and will rebuild them as they were before. 8 I will cleanse them from all the sin they have committed against me and will forgive all their sins of rebellion against me.

We, the church, God’s sons and daughters, must act responsibly and enter into a place of repentance.

Just like Judah, our lands need health and healing. They must be cleansed from top to bottom from all sin, that He may forgive us for rebelling against Him.

And repentance is the key to it all.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-13-22

1 Chronicles 16:31 (NKJV) 31 Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; And let them say among the nations, “The Lord reigns.”

Life is messy. The world can be a crazy, scary place.

But there is one thing that I can say that will bring light to seemingly-insurmountable darkness; The Lord reigns.

No matter what life throws at us, whether individually or collectively, The Lord reigns.

We can face some horrendous things in our lives, again, either individually or collectively. But no matter what we face, God is the source of hope, strength and light in the darkness.

We were never promised a life of rosy situations. We were never promised that life would be fair. We were never, ever assured that life would be without trials and tribulations.

In fact, Jesus told us the exact opposite.

John 16:33 (NKJV) 33 These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation

But what else did Jesus say, at the end of verse 33?

He said, ”but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”.

So, our strength and hope lie in the fact that He has already overcome the world, meaning that, although we will face trials and tribulations, we have victory in Him through it all.

And this even applies when things might not go the way we think they should.

And as we walk through this life here on earth, and we deal with the obstacles and the setbacks we sometimes face, there is one thing that we need to be careful not to do.

And it is this; we should never question God’s sovereignty and the way He chooses to do things.

Should we decide to do so, we just may find ourselves in the same shoes as Job, when God so aptly put him in his place after he questioned God’s ways.

Job 38:4 (NKJV) 4 “Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell Me, if you have understanding.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-12-22 – The Whole Thing

Please click to watch the video now.Greetings in the wonderful name of Jesus!

We have a new video for you today that was fun to record, and we think you’ll love it.

It’s not your “normal Bible teaching” video for a few reasons. Yet, it is a very solid video that we can all learn from.

Today’s video is called, “The Whole Thing”. And in this video, we teach about the importance of looking at a whole verse, not just part of it, in order to get a truer understanding of what it means.

This is more important than most people realize, so we hope you’ll take a few minutes to watch it.

Please click to watch the video now.

Enjoy your day!

We love you all.

Bible Verse of the Day – 6-11-22

Psalm 18:32 (NKJV) 32 It is God who arms me with strength, And makes my way perfect.

How often do we try to be strong, but end up breaking down or falling apart because we just can’t handle it anymore? It’s too much for our natural man.

We were not made to be strong on our own.

God will arm us with His strength. He will make sure our way is perfect if we humbly go to Him for help and trust Him.

Do we need His strength and our way made perfect? Cry out to Him.

If we are heading into battle, we don’t go in alone. We make sure we are armed with God’s strength. We can trust that our way will be made perfect if we let Him lead.

Psalm 31:3 (NKJV) 3 For You are my rock and my fortress; Therefore, for Your name’s sake, Lead me and guide me.

He is our ROCK and our Fortress! Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-10-22

Matthew 23:1-3 (NKJV) 1 Then Jesus spoke to the multitudes and to His disciples, 2 saying: “The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat. 3 Therefore whatever they tell you to observe, that observe and do, but do not do according to their works; for they say, and do not do.

Before we get into today’s teaching, we’d like to encourage everyone to take some time to read the entire 23rd chapter of Matthew. Jesus shares some very strong words regarding the religious leaders of His day, exposing their hypocrisy.

We can all learn from His words and use them as a sort of yardstick to measure ourselves, using it to gauge whether we may be guilty of anything that Jesus accused the religious leaders of.

So, let’s look now at what Jesus was saying, and see what we can learn from it!

First, note what Jesus said about the authority of the scribes and Pharisees; They sit in Moses’ seat.

What does that mean?

The “seat” that they occupy is a seat of authority. This is why Jesus tells everyone that they should obey what the leaders teach them about the law.

It gets interesting in a hurry, though, as Jesus immediately follows that up with this; “but do not do according to their works; for they say, and do not do”.

In other words, follow what they teach, but don’t follow their life’s examples because they don’t even do what they teach everyone else to do; they are hypocrites.

This is important for us to understand and to look at closely, so we can learn from it.

How do we measure up?

In His words above, Jesus was referring directly to those in leadership positions. These were people who were esteemed by those under them. Yet, despite their positions, they failed to live up to what they taught.

Are we doing the same thing? Or are we careful and cautious to live by the words that we speak?

This is something that we need to take seriously and look at carefully. Because our lives, and the way we live them, will trickle down onto those around us. And the example that we set will either bring glory to God, or dishonor His name.

Which one is it?

Let’s think about that.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-9-22

Hebrews 6:10 (NKJV) 10 For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

Sometimes, even as believers, we may feel tired, alone and heavy-laden.

We hurt for those we care about, and many nights we find ourselves crying alone on our pillows for the things we see.

We cry for our loved ones. We cry for the suffering we see in the world. We cry for those that are so twisted in their thinking, and the damage it is causing. We cry because of what God sees in humanity as a whole.

The world is full of pain and sorrow.

Psalm 27:13 (NKJV) 13 I would have lost heart, unless I had believed That I would see the goodness of the Lord In the land of the living.

Although there is much to pray about, and so much to be concerned about, there is also a lot of the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living!

Stay focused on the good things, and pray for that which has gone sour. Be an encourager, and lift others by our words of love.

Don’t lose heart. Believe that God will turn things around! Amen.

He sees our ministering daily and does not forget our work and labor of love. He is faithful to see things through.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-8-22

Proverbs 4:7 (NKJV) 7 Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding.

There are many things that we can seek in life. And that list of things varies widely across the lives of us all, since we are all unique and diverse, as God created us.

As believers, we may seek very different things related to our walk with God.

Some may seek different spiritual gifts. Others may simply want a stronger walk with God.

Some may seek material blessings; a better job, a new home, a bigger salary, etc.

But there is one thing that we should seek out before any of the rest of these, especially if we’re seeking any kind of material blessing.

That one thing is wisdom; namely, God-inspired, Holy Spirit-led wisdom.

The verse above tells us that wisdom is the principal thing.

The word, “principal”, could also be replaced with primary, main, first, most important, etc.

This tells us that it’s very important, and not to be overlooked.

Why is wisdom so important that we should seek it before seeking these other things?

Because that God-given wisdom will teach us and show us how to handle those things we are seeking once we have received them.

Without wisdom, we will likely wrestle with making sound choices. We will struggle to do what is right with the very things that God has blessed us with.

Having abundant finances without the ability to handle them properly is a recipe for disaster.

Having a better position at our place of employment won’t do us any good if we don’t have the wisdom to make wise decisions.

And this principle carries over into every aspect of our lives.

We absolutely need to have wisdom if we want to avoid constantly making a mess of our lives because of the choices we make.

The best thing about all of this is that God is more than willing to give us that wisdom. We just have to be willing to seek it out and follow what He tells us to do.

And if we spend ample time in His word, we will be sure to glean all of the wisdom we need to live our lives wisely!

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-7-22

Matthew 7:7 (NKJV) 7 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.

Ask.

One of the most important things in this life as a believer is knowing God’s promises for us and learning how to ask for them on a personal level.

In order for any of His promises to happen, we must be in agreement with Him for them to come to pass in our lives.

We don’t demand and we don’t command. We simply ask and respectfully (reverently) wait for His timing and His way of accomplishing it.

Seek.

How does one seek after God?

Again, we prayerfully go to and wait on Him.

We seek Him through reading His word. And throughout our day we seek Him by listening, letting Him help us discern the things that we need to see and understand.

Sincerely seeking Him will give us His answers.

Knock, and it will be open!

Simply go toward whatever God has put in front of us and follow through.

One thing I find interesting is the order they are in. Ask, seek and knock.

I find knocking doesn’t seem to do me a bit of good if I have not done both of these things first.

We must ask to start the process or get the ball rolling, so to speak.

Once the process has begun (we’ve asked), it doesn’t mean that whatever we are asking for will pop out of thin air.

Instead, it should cause us to want to seek after God for confirmation and further instructions.

It’s very important to know what steps to take, the timing and the knowhow to see it through, etc.

And then we come to the end and bring it home by knocking or “following through” with faith, wisdom and understanding. He will lead us each step of the way.

Praise God!

Bible Verse of the Day – 6-6-22

Philippians 4:6-7 (NKJV) 6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Worry, Fear, Stress, Anxiety.

These are all things that we as humans struggle with when things get tough or unsure.

Some wrestle with these more than others. Our personality can play a big part in how much we struggle with any of them.

But our walk with God, our faith in Him and how much we trust Him can also have a major impact on whether or not we fight with any of them, or even to what degree it might happen.

Everyone is in a different place in their walk with God. We all deal with different obstacles when it comes to growing and maturing.

The import thing, though, is that we do work at it.

A strong, secure relationship with our Father is our best defense against anxiety, fear, stress and worrying.

As we grow and mature as a believer, we will come to understand what Jesus said in Matthew 6:34, “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble”.

Does this mean that our worries just magically melt away? Of course not.

But it does mean that as we spiritually mature, we will spend less and less time fretting and worrying, and more time seeking God and His solutions to our problems.

And as we do that, worrying will indeed become less a part of our life than we could have ever imagined.
