Bible Verse of The Day – 6-4-24

1 Thessalonians 5:11 (NKJV) 11 Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing.

When people want to comfort others, they will often say things like, “we are here for you if you need anything at all.”

These words can make all the difference in the world when we hear them. Even if we may never need to call on them, just knowing they are willing to be there is huge! It brings great comfort.

We have had many of you comfort us with such kindness and sincerity on this journey. And you have truly been there for us. Thank you for comforting and bring edification to us at times with words and actions from your heart.

Thank God for those who will step up to the plate and be that one who will follow through.

We are here for you; five words that can bring such rest to a weary mind.

Yes, it is a sacrificial statement on one’s part. And we will feel the responsibility of it if we truly mean it.

Struggling people will take such words and hold them dear.

They are counting on these spoken words that hit them in their heart to get them through.

God bless you for your willingness “to be there” when needed. It’s comforting and means everything to someone who is going through a rough spot in their walk.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-3-24

Psalm 51:10 (NKJV) 10 Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me.

The world has a way of trying to wear us down.

Each day presents new challenges that can easily affect our walk with God if we allow them to.

We feel peer pressure to conform. We are inundated with the perversions of the world. We are enticed with ideas that are contrary to God’s word and His ways.

The list of things we battle each day is endless.

The battles that we face individually will vary from one person to the next, all the while sharing a common thread with every believer; to derail our walk with God and destroy our faith in Him.

That is the single goal of the enemy of our souls.

How we handle this onslaught is a choice we make day by day, minute by minute. And the decisions we make will affect our future battles.

How we choose today will impact every day thereafter, sometimes creating a domino effect, for the good or for the bad.

Now, that may sound gloomy. It may make us feel like it is a battle that we can never win.

But we can win!

David cried out in the verse above, asking God to create in him a clean heart, and renew within him a steadfast spirit.

David understood what was required to live a life that was pleasing to God.

He knew that only God could change His heart and make his spirit steadfast (faithful, devoted, loyal, true, etc.).

So, he leaned completely on God to make him who he needed to be to carry out the tasks that God had set before him in a way that pleased God and brought glory and honor to Him.

There is much we can learn from David.

Humility is one of the biggest factors that made Him who He was. He knew he was frail as a human, so He cried out to God frequently, asking for His help.

Let us also do the same, keeping ourselves humble before God, allowing Him to lead us, guide us, and correct us when we need it.

In doing this, we will find satisfaction and peace that the world could never offer us.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-1-24

Psalm 28:7 (NKJV) 7 The Lord is my strength and my shield; My heart trusted in Him, and I am helped; Therefore my heart greatly rejoices, And with my song I will praise Him.

My heart greatly rejoices today! As I ponder on my life and the things God has brought me through, I am in awe.

I could never take any credit for this life that I live. He has been there in ways I could not even begin to think of or comprehend.

As I look back, I see how He saved me from things that I never thought I could make it through. He was there.

He was there even before it began to play out.

Matthew 18:3 (NKJV) 3 and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.

When we can comprehend how much He really wants to be there for us, we will be like that child He talks about in the verse above.

We truly need to become like little children, trusting in Him so much that we just fall into His arms and rest in His plan, even when we might not understand it all.

My song of praise today is, “Thank you Lord for saving my soul, thank you Lord for making me whole, thank you Lord for giving to me, thy great salvation so rich and free.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-31-24

Ecclesiastes 11:5 (NKJV) 5 As you do not know what is the way of the wind, Or how the bones grow in the womb of her who is with child, So you do not know the works of God who makes everything.

At its face value, this verse speaks volumes to the wonders and mysteries of God and His works.

No one can understand Him or comprehend His ways.

That statement itself is a testament to what this verse plainly states in its most basic sense.

But as I dug a bit deeper, I discovered that there is more, much more to what this verse is saying.

Join me as we uncover some hidden treasure!

In the translation above, it is stated that “we do not know what is the way of the wind.”

But if we look at references to the original manuscripts, we will first see that “wind” is referring to “spirt” (lowercase s), as in the spirit of man.

This now begins to connect some dots for us regarding the reference to “how the bones grow in the womb of her who is with child.”

Here is one snippet from some original manuscripts: you do not know how the spirit enters the bones in the womb.

Another manuscript says it like this: Just as you cannot understand how breath comes to a tiny baby in its mother’s womb.

Just knowing these two little tidbits shines a huge light on a deeper meaning for the verse above!

It shows us more about God’s sovereignty and His workings in things that are truly a mystery to the human intellect.

This is just one example of what can be found if we take the time to dig deeper into God’s word.

How does breath enter a tiny baby in the womb? It is a mystery that we will never know.

But knowing the deeper meaning of the original manuscripts gives us small pieces of knowledge that are otherwise hidden and can help us see God in a new light.

And all of this will lead us to a deeper love for Him, our wonderful Creator and Redeemer.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-30-24

Proverbs 22:6 (NKJV) 6 Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it.

Do you have a child who is going through some struggles?

It hurts us as parents to watch our children hurt or struggle.

The best thing we can do with our children is to be honest with them right from the start.

Teach them what they need to know, and do not water it down.

If we sugar coat things and try to protect and hide them from every little thing, it will be harder for them when they are faced with things that are difficult.

Teach them how to lean on God. How to pray and walk by faith.

Teach them where to go to get the help and guidance they need at times.

If we invest this time into them as they grow up, they will be strong in their faith. And their life will be a success as they trust God and lean on Him.

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-29-24

Job 19:25 (NKJV) 25 For I know that my Redeemer lives, And He shall stand at last on the earth;

Life can sometimes be difficult.

It can deal us some very harsh blows for which we have no explanation or understanding.

This may often cause us to question God, or to become angry that we are on the receiving end of such things.

But as we mature in our walk with God, we will find ourselves questioning Him less, and trusting Him more.

On a personal level, I have experienced this myself.

I have walked through seasons of extreme famine and financial hardship.

I watched my mother battle cancer and then die at the age of just 46 after being eaten away by the disease that claimed her life.

I have experienced betrayal at the hands of someone that I had taken under my wing and helped through some very tough situations.

And I have learned that this is just how life goes. We all deal with things such as this, and no one is exempt.

But as I have looked back on these things, I have been able to see God’s hand in each of them.

I have witnessed Him draw a wayward person back to Him within hours of them dying.

I have seen His hand of provision during times of dire need.

I have learned how to forgive when everything in my flesh wanted quite the opposite.

And I have seen His sovereignty as I have re-traced the steps of my years, seeing Him put puzzle pieces together in ways that man could never accomplish, to bring me to the exact place that I am in right now.

So, in all of this, I have learned, as Job did, that even during my worst calamity, my Redeemer lives.

He sets up kings, and He removes kings. He gives, and He takes away.

He walks me through my darkest hour, and He brings peace in the middle of the greatest storms.

And in that, despite facing great storms from time to time, I find my peace and my solace.

May you find yours in Him also.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-28-24

Mark 12:30 (NKJV) 30 And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment.

If we love God with all of our heart we will truly prosper in this life.

Loving God with all our heart will cause us to live righteously. And that, my friend, is what a “Christian Walk” is all about. Our walk with Christ is an example to others.

As I ponder today on the beautiful verse above, I realize that loving the Lord God with all our heart is a place we will grow into if we truly go after Him with every ounce of our being!

In doing so, we must want to invest our life in Him. We must let go of some things that stand tall in our hearts, and He must be the tallest, towering above everything else.

Why does this have to be?

Why can’t we have other things that we love and cherish? We absolutely can have those things that we love and cherish if they remain in their proper place.

If we have things in our life that we put before God, they are the things we must focus on putting in their proper place.

It takes time to realize this, and time for the adjustment, but we must start somewhere.

Now, the result of making these very hard adjustments is that we will begin to see our life change. A little at a time we will begin to make God-led, righteous choices.

Why?

Because we reach a point where what matters to Him means more than what matters to us.

And because we want what He wants, we will ask Him more and more for His answers, and He will show us great and mighty things as we rely on Him! Amen.

Jeremiah 33:3 (NKJV) 3 ‘Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-27-24

Hebrews 4:12 (NKJV) 12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

The word of God is not something we should take lightly. His word is our source of knowledge, truth, and understanding.

His word illuminates our path. It shines a light as we walk.

His word shows us who He wants us to be.

His word gives proof of who He is and how He created everything we see.

His word feeds our spirit.

And His word shows us that He loves us.

And yet, despite this and more, so few believers read His word.

Many people simply leave it up to their pastors or other church leaders to tell them what they need to hear.

They fail to make the effort to verify that what they are being told is legitimate and accurate.

This is a dangerous place to be; trusting someone else to secure our eternal destiny.

It is, in fact, a place that will, more-often-than-not, lead many to spiritual death; eternal separation from God.

Life without God’s word is not life at all. It is a dry, mundane existence that will leave us empty and hollow shells of the men and women He desires us to be.

It is life lived by intellect, emotion, and instinct instead of by the Spirit of God.

Spending time in His word is not optional. It is mandatory if we desire to truly walk with Him.

Be careful not to misunderstand this. God will not force anyone to read His word any more than He will force us to trust Him.

But if we call ourselves His child, would we not want to know our Father completely, that our relationship with Him would be more than a passing mention of Him from time to time?

Would we not want to know everything we can know about the One we call Father?

If this brings feelings of conviction, or if you find yourself struggling in your walk with God, we urge you to pick up your Bible and spend time reading it.

Put forth the effort needed to not only read it, but feast on it. Devour it as though your life depends on it. Because, in reality, it does.

Psalm 119:105 (NKJV) 105 Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-26-24 – The Edge of The Cliff

Please click to watch the video now.Greetings, brothers and sisters in Christ.

The devil is a deceiver, but God is the light Who exposes the devil’s schemes.

We have a new video for you today in which we discuss and teach about how the devil uses counterfeits to try to steer us onto a path that looks like God’s path but is not the genuine deal.

In this video we share scripture, as well as testimony from our own personal lives in which counterfeit alternatives to God’s choices were presented to us in a situation we faced many years ago.

You can watch “The Edge of The Cliff” and see what happened!

We love you all!

Enjoy your day and stay close to God.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-25-24

Ephesians 4:29 (NKJV) 29 Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.

The hardest thing for us to tame is our tongue.

That’s right! It wants to say what it feels like saying. It is unruly and full of poison.

James 3:8 (NKJV) 8 But no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.

We can grieve the Holy Spirit at times by what we say.

Choosing our words carefully is part of maturing as a child of God.

Not everything we want to say is OK for us to speak. If we let the Holy Spirit temper our words, we will find most times we won’t say half of what we were considering saying.

And once words have formed in our minds and are about to leave our mouths, it’s very hard to change direction mid-course.

I’ve learned that corruptible words aren’t necessarily just vulgar language. They are also unnecessary words spoken in an effort to be funny or in gossiping.

The Bible sometimes refers to this as idle talk; carnal conversation bearing no fruit.

Any words that aren’t good, edifying, or imparting grace to the hearer can be considered unnecessary words.

If we want to have a meaningful conversation, we need to be aware of the Holy Spirit living in us and how He will guide us in our talk.

Why? Because words are powerful.

Remember these words: If we have nothing good to say, don’t say anything at all.

Following that simple principle will go along way toward keeping us out of trouble!

James 1:19 (NKJV) 19 So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath;
