Bible Verse of The Day – 6-21-23

John 16:33 (NKJV) 33 These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

Life is never perfect; not for any of us.

Some of us deal with some very hard things in our lives, and we don’t always find a solution for them.

Some of these things last a long time… years and years. For some, these things might even last for a majority of their lives.

People often question this and ask why these things happen. Why do some people suffer so much in their lives?

There are no perfect, happy-ever-after type answers for the questions that get asked when these kinds of situations are encountered.

Sometimes life is just hard, with situations that are hard to understand, and even harder to endure.

Sometimes these things happen as consequences for choices we have made. Other times, they happen by no fault of our own. They just happen.

But take note that Jesus told us in the verse above that trials and tribulations would come. None of us is exempt.

Does that mean we can’t ask God for help or wisdom about our situation? Absolutely not.

The best thing we can do if we are in these kinds of situations is understand that God is our rock and our fortress in everything that we face.

He is our source of peace and of hope.

He is our solace (comfort, consolation, cheer, support).

His joy is our strength.

We should be seeking Him every day, not just to ask Him how to get out of our situation, but also to ask Him what we can learn from it.

How can we bring glory to Him in the midst of the storm we are traveling through?

Let us grow while facing trials. Let us look to Him for His comfort and strength. And let us find our joy in Him, even as we push through times of great difficulty.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-20-23

Matthew 11:28 (NKJV) 28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Are you tired today? Do you hurt? Are you so busy you don’t have time to think about anything else other than what you must do next?

No time to just sit and ponder on the good things, just trying to keep up with it all. Trying to make sure everything is done. Dotting every I and crossing every T.

You are not alone.

Most of this world is feeling the same way. It’s called being “heavy laden”!

If you look around, you will see it on most faces you pass by.

They may be even busier than you. This is why we have to catch ourselves and snap out of this pace. It’s not good to always be this heavy.

We will miss out on so many good moments in life if we stay in this busy zone.

Our family needs us, not just the things we provide for them. They need our voice, our love, our hugs, our stories, our laughter and the balance that we can bring!

But if we are not taking time out for them, we are missing it big time. We are way off.

This is a warning to someone today.

Your family and loved ones need you. And they need YOU to need them.

It’s time to stop this routine that has been going on for some time now, and make a new one; one that can bring you rest, joy and lots of hugs.

You can’t keep it up; you will drop. And those who love you will have to pick up the pieces.

Today, take a step to do what’s right for you and your family. Rest in Jesus Christ. He will give you wisdom to balance everything out.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-19-23

Luke 5:16 (NKJV) 16 So He Himself often withdrew into the wilderness and prayed.

Life can get noisy. So many things constantly barrage our ears with sounds. After a while it can get frustrating, and these noises can become a huge distraction if we let them.

Smartphones are constantly alerting us with notifications.

Microwave ovens beep to let us know when something is finished heating up. And if we don’t get to it within seconds, it will beep again and again.

Washing machines and dryers beep or buzz to let us know when the laundry is finished.

Televisions spew a constant stream of noise; voices, sound effects, music and more.

People can be noisy too; constant chatter that can wear on us over time if we don’t get a reprieve from it.

Jesus frequently took time away from everyone to go and spend time with His Father.

He knew and understood the importance of doing this, and He set the perfect example for His disciples, and for us centuries later.

How often do we do this? When do we break away from everything, and everyone, to spend time communing with our heavenly Father, with no noises, no interruptions and no disturbances?

We are all different. Our situations and circumstances are unique. But it’s still critical that we heed the instruction and the example of Jesus, making sure we set aside the time to break away from the constant chatter so we can hear God and share our heart with Him.

With our lives so busy, it might seem impossible for some of us to even think about doing this. But it isn’t optional if we hope to grow as believers and learn how to hear God accurately.

So, make today the day we start. Make today the day that we do whatever it takes to “withdraw” to a quiet place to pray and spend time with our Father.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-17-23

Ephesians 6:10 (NKJV) 10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

Paul admonishes (instructs) us to put on the whole armor of God in order to stand against the devil (and the forces of hell), against invisible physical powers who have various levels of authority in their spheres of activity.

Putting on the whole armor of God is what keeps us strong, allowing us to hold our battle stance against all the unseen evil structure.

Our combat is against spiritual forces, not men.

God has given us great protection and resources to meet our enemy.

It’s a necessity for all believers to gird our waist with truth; we need to know God’s word inside and out.

We also need to put on the breastplate of righteousness; this righteousness has been imparted to us through salvation.

2 Corinthians 5:21 (NKJV) 21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

The shield of faith is also part of our armor.

This shield will protect us from the fiery darts that come to personally assault us; they will be quenched as we stand strong in our faith.

We also need the helmet of salvation; salvation brings forgiveness and redemption from our sins through Christ.

It’s important to note that the belt, the shield, the breastplate and the helmet are all defensive pieces of our armor. They protect us from the onslaught of the enemy’s attacks.

The final piece of our armor is the sword of the Spirit, which is the only offensive piece.

Our sword is the word of God.

His word gives us the ability to attack the enemy in a way that will render his temptations and his attacks on us powerless.

Let us remember that His armor only protects us if we wear it.

It is His divine protection!

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-16-23

Nehemiah 4:14 (NLT) 14 Then as I looked over the situation, I called together the nobles and the rest of the people and said to them, “Don’t be afraid of the enemy! Remember the Lord, who is great and glorious, and fight for your brothers, your sons, your daughters, your wives, and your homes!”

As I have studied more in depth over the last couple of years, Nehemiah has become someone that I have a lot of respect for.

Why?

Because he was a truth warrior.

He knew how to discern, and he knew how to stand and speak for truth and righteousness.

As a cupbearer to King Artaxerxes, Nehemiah had gained the king’s respect for his dedication and faithfulness.

When Nehemiah became aware of a dire situation regarding many of his fellow Jews, he knew he had to act and help them.

He approached the king and obtained permission to take leave from his duties as the king’s cupbearer so he could go and help the Jews who were returning to Judah from exile to rebuild their homeland.

Many of the people in the land opposed them. But Nehemiah was not to be deterred. He stood strongly and boldly, continuing to work feverishly and diligently to rebuild the walls around Jerusalem.

And in the verse above, he encouraged his fellow Jews to do the same.

Do not be afraid of the enemy!

And we speak these same words to you today.

Do not be afraid of the enemy! Remember Who it is that fights for us!

Stand and fight for your wives and husbands, your brothers and sisters, your sons & daughters, and your homes!

Remember the Lord, who is glorious. Take heart in His faithfulness. Draw your strength and courage from Him!

As David said to the Philistines before he slayed the giant, so we also speak to our enemy;

1 Samuel 17:47 (NKJV) 47 Then all this assembly shall know that the Lord does not save with sword and spear; for the battle is the Lord’s, and He will give you into our hands.”

So, when the enemy taunts you, telling you that you will lose, stand firm and know that the battle is not ours, but belongs to God our redeemer!

Amen

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-15-23

Romans 11:33 (NKJV) 33 Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out!

God is so deep that it is impossible for us to fully discover or understand all of Him.

Paul says it best; the depths of His riches are His wisdom and knowledge. According to Paul, being rich isn’t about money. It is in having God’s wisdom and knowledge.

How do we obtain this? Through studying His word and learning His ways.

In doing this, we gain wisdom to know what He says about certain things.

He gives us knowledge on how to handle very hard situations and His overall stance on the things that we face daily.

Getting His wisdom and knowledge on things brings an understanding to us in ways we would never have thought of on our own.

I pray to God that we all move in His wisdom and knowledge, that we seek after Him, and study to get His word so deeply into our hearts.

You see, the Holy Spirit can not remind us of the things that the Word of God says if we don’t get that word in us.

John 14:26  (NKJV) 26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.

Many people will sit for hours and read a fiction book, and not think anything of it. But will people consider reading their Bible?

The Bible is the most beautiful love story ever told. A book that has been around for thousands of years.  A book that is filled with real life lessons to learn. A book filled with God’s wisdom and knowledge, right at our fingertips.

Every page has precious nuggets that will help us tremendously if we would apply them.

What are we waiting for? Go after His wisdom and knowledge!

Proverbs 4:7 (NKJV) 7 Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding.

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-14-23

Nehemiah 9:6 (NJKV) 6 You alone are the Lord; You have made heaven, The heaven of heavens, with all their host, The earth and everything on it, The seas and all that is in them, And You preserve them all. The host of heaven worships You.

Sometimes we need a reminder of who God is; His majesty, His wonder and His sovereignty.

It can be easy sometimes to look past things and forget that everything we see is a miracle, created by our heavenly Father.

He alone is the Lord.

Nothing that we see was made by anyone other than Him.

And get this; what He created, He preserves!

He created it all in a way that keeps it. It stays in its place and it continues to do what it is supposed to do.

The ocean tides come in and go out like clockwork.

The earth rotates perfectly, at the same speed, day after day.

The seasons change. They never stop.

The moon goes from full to new, and it keeps doing it again and again.

Flowers bloom and die, only to bloom again. And the process goes on.

The sun lights the sky and gives warmth. And it never fails to do so.

God did it all. He is faithful.

Let us remember this at all times. Amen!

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-13-23

Matthew 5:13-14 (NKJV) 13 “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. 14 “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.

Fellow believers, do you want to know our call?

It’s very simple; to be the salt and light of the world.

Our call is to influence and penetrate a secular society for the good; to reach the lost.

We must stay close to God by feeding our spirit with His word daily. This helps us to keep our flavor and our spark, and keep our brightness strong.

There is no time for us to let down our guard. We must remember that this journey here on earth is only for a season. And it doesn’t last nearly as long as we think it will.

That is the amount of time we are here on this earth. Our rest comes when we go to our heavenly home. Until then, we work. We press in, and we push forward.

Let us get up each day with a song of praise in our heart and a determined will to do good, and to light up this earth with our “God-given influence of love” and leave an impression wherever we step foot!

God is our light. He lives within us. We can’t be afraid to speak up, to pray for others, to encourage one another and to glorify Him through our actions!

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-12-23

Deuteronomy 6:5 (NKJV) 5 You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.

I love my wife. I love her with all my heart.

I also love bass fishing, and I enjoy bike riding.

My love for Bass fishing and bike riding obviously isn’t nearly as strong as my love for Pastor Ellie. Not even close!

But none of these can begin to compare to my love for God.

And this is what God has commanded us to do; to put Him, and our love for Him, before everyone and everything else.

This isn’t something that just happens.

Just as we learn to love our spouse, we must learn to love God.

We don’t learn this overnight. We don’t learn accidentally. And we don’t always learn easily.

It takes time, and it takes effort on our part. It takes persistent, diligent, relentless effort.

No effort equals a bare-minimum relationship with God. A minimal relationship equals frail, feeble love.

Our love for God needs to be strong!

Loving God is something that we must decide in our hearts is our top priority. It’s when we do this that we see things change in our heart.

And when our heart changes, the rest of our life follows suit.

Before we know it, we are beginning to build our lives around God and our love for Him, instead of constantly battling just to find a few spare minutes to try to read His word.

The change comes a little at a time as we continue to relentlessly pursue Him and put Him first.

We encourage everyone reading this to give God your all. Pour yourself into your walk with Him.

Put Him first in everything. Give Him your whole heart.

Watch your love for Him grow and flourish.
