1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (NKJV) 16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
We hear this question asked a lot from believers; “what is the will of God for my life?”
This very simple but profound verse give us the answer to this question for all of us.
Walking in these three things, rejoicing, praying, and giving thanks, is putting us right where we need to be in God’s will.
When we are rejoicing in Him, we are showing our gratitude and appreciation to Him no matter what our circumstances are. Our joy abides in Him regardless of any challenges we are up against.
When we are praying without ceasing, we are maintaining an ongoing conversation with Him. Our heart is open to His will and our discernment is sharp.
When we are giving thanks, we are expressing to Him how thankful we are, and we are glorifying Him and His work in our lives.
We are not insinuating here that we are to ignore hardship and pretend it doesn’t happen to believers. But that while we see what is in front of us, we can rejoice in knowing that He is faithful! That as we leave it at His feet and trust Him, we can be sure and give Him thanks in everything. For He is God!
Let us walk in His will today.
Amen.
