Bible Verse of The Day – 4-18-13

(Isaiah 40:31 NKJV)  But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.

The past few months have been a big waiting period for my husband and me. I have to admit that at times I feel like I can’t wait one more itty bitty second or I will faint. But, I do. I wait a little more in the hopes that something will change.

I am telling you… it’s not easy to wait. It’s not easy to sit back and be patient. But I’m also telling you that if we do, God promises us we will mount up with wings like eagles. We will run and not be weary; and we will walk and not faint!

“Keep going” is the word for today!! If it’s in waiting, keep waiting. If it’s in running, then keep running. If it’s in being silent, keep quiet, and if it’s in speaking out, then shout it from the house tops!! Amen!!

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-29-13

(Psalm 86:3 NKJV)  Be merciful to me, O Lord, For I cry to You all day long.

Do we ever feel like David felt at times? Like all we do is cry out to God for we are in such need?

Are we in a desperate place and need help immediately?  I think we all have those moments; the moment of not knowing how it will all turn out and how long it will take.

It’s OK to have these moments and to cry out to God. He is there for us.

Let this be our prayer today, for all those that are in need and scared.

Dear God,

Be merciful to us, O Lord, For we cry to You all day long. Help us in our desperate situation, we ask, in Jesus Name, Amen!

We are not alone. Be blessed.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-20-13

(Numbers 11:23 NKJV)  And the LORD said to Moses, “Has the Lord’s arm been shortened? Now you shall see whether what I say will happen to you or not.”

Are we asking God this same question today? Where are you, God? Has Your arm been shortened?

Have you been in your situation so long that you are beginning to wonder about this?

When we are having good times, of course everything is good. We are confident we are heading down the right road and we are doing the right things.

When trouble comes, and it takes a bit to figure things out…it’s different. It causes us to take a look at ourselves and make changes, if needed. We take the time and ask ourselves are we doing the right things or have we strayed in the wrong direction. Did we make a wrong turn somewhere? What?

This is all good; we should check ourselves. We should be accountable for our actions. If we went off track a bit, God wants us to get back on track. He will be more than happy to help us get back on.

Sometimes we may even feel like He is nowhere around; it seems quiet. At times it can seem so quiet that we think nothing’s happening. We may feel that we have gone too far or done too much wrong to even expect Him to want to help us.

We may even feel He has left us alone to fix things ourselves. That is just not true! That is a lie and we all know where lying voices come from.

No matter how far away we have strayed from the right path, God’s arm has not been shortened. As we repent and truly want to receive His help, His arm will reach down and pick us up right where we are at.

Today, know this; that God’s arm is not too short to reach us.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-13-13

(Proverbs 3:5-6 NKJV)  Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; {6} In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

Trust in the Lord. These are words that we are learning to live by more and more each day.

We have been going through some trials the past several months and they are causing us to really check ourselves and see where our trust really lies.

We have been in a period of waiting that seems endless. If we were not trusting in God, we just might lose all hope.

But I stand today and proclaim boldly that we will trust in the Lord with all of our heart, and we will seek His understanding in all things.

We will shout from the mountaintops and from the valley, “God, we praise you in the midst of this storm and we worship you no matter what comes our way”.

Amen!

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-11-13

(Proverbs 3:21-22 NKJV)  My son, let them not depart from your eyes; Keep sound wisdom and discretion; {22} So they will be life to your soul And grace to your neck.

Sound wisdom and discretion; in modern times we call this common sense. God has given all of us common sense. We use it on a daily basis to make choices and decisions.

Sometimes we, as believers, tend to overlook common sense as we try to “get God” on something, or try so very hard to “know what God’s telling us”.

Sometimes we can be trying so hard to be spiritual that we overlook what God is showing us with good old fashioned common sense!

We should always seek God in everything we do. It’s important that we do this and important that we know how to hear Him when he’s speaking to us. But it’s just as important that we know how to use the tools that He has given us (intelligence and common sense), when we don’t seem to have a spiritual answer for a situation.

Sometimes the answer to our problem(s) is staring us in the face, but because it doesn’t reveal itself in some kind of spiritual way, we just don’t see it. Well, this is where common sense needs to kick in and we need to see it for what it is.

This can happen to any one of us, regardless of how spiritual we think we are!

Are you facing a problem today? Are you waiting on God for an answer to that problem? Maybe He hasn’t shown you a solution yet… or maybe He has, but we just need to use common sense to see it.

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-20-13

(Exodus 14:21 NKJV)  Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the LORD caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea into dry land, and the waters were divided.

It’s always good to go back and read various passages of scripture again, just to keep them fresh in our minds and make sure we have them accurately planted in our mind and spirit.

Reading this passage again always reminds me that when God parted the Red Sea, He did so overnight, not instantly. Moses stretched his hand over the sea and God caused a strong east wind to blow. Parting the sea actually happened over several hours, not in a few seconds!

So despite what some movies might try to portray, the people of Israel had to wait all night long for God’s hand to rescue them from the Egyptian army, which was waiting close by.

They didn’t get sudden deliverance. They had to wait on God!!

Oh, how we all wish God would swoop down from heaven and rescue us all from our problems, dilemmas, trials and tribulations. I will admit that this would surely be nice.

But if God was always right there to rescue us from the situations we get ourselves into, how much would we learn and how many times would we get ourselves right back into the same messes over and over again?

We can definitely say that over the years we have learned that waiting on God to deliver us is, most times, the best thing for us.

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-16-13

(2 Peter 1:5-7 NKJV)  But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, {6} to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, {7} to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love.

Knowledge is a beautiful thing if handled correctly. It helps us to know what to do, how to handle situations that come our way and what we need to say at times. Taking the knowledge that God gives us and waiting on Him to show us what to do with it will cause us to learn self control, which is vital to the body of Christ.

We can have a great deal of knowledge, but if we can not deliver it the way God wants us to, or in His timing, it can and will hurt others, including ourselves.

When God gives us knowledge for our situation, or anyone else’s situation, the next step is to pray and wait on Him to show us what to do with it.That will build up that self control muscle.

Have you ever prayed for something or someone, and you knew that God gave you the answer, yet when you acted on what you felt God showed you it didn’t work, or it was not received by the person you shared it with?

This can happen if we are out of God’s timing when sharing knowledge He has given us.

Having self control over the things we receive from God will help us be more productive and see better results as we wait on Him. Let us build up that self control muscle today by waiting on His timing.

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-23-13

(Luke 1:37 NKJV)  “For with God nothing will be impossible.”

There isn’t a single person reading this right now who isn’t going through some kind of trial, facing some kind of major decision in their life or waiting for a breakthrough of some kind.

Some of what we’re facing in self-inflicted, while other things are no fault of our own. Either way, with God nothing is impossible.

Are you seeking healing? God is our healer.

Are you in need of deliverance? God is our deliverer.

Are you in poverty? God is our source.

God is everything we need. With Him all things are possible.

This doesn’t mean that things come to us easily or instantly. We have to wait, most times, for the breakthrough to happen.

But there is one thing for sure, and it’s this; while we wait, and regardless of how long it takes, God will never, ever turn us away or forsake us.

Rest today, in knowing this.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-27-12

(Exodus 14:21 NKJV)  Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the LORD caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea into dry land, and the waters were divided.

God led the Israelites to the shore of the Red Sea. The Egyptians were in hot pursuit. There was nowhere to run or hide as they faced the sea.

God instructed Moses to stretch his hand out over the sea. So Moses did this and then God began to move.

Take notice that God caused the waters of the Red Sea to part, to divide, but it didn’t happen instantly. It took all night long!

The Israelites had to wait there on the shore of the sea all night, while God caused a strong east wind to blow and divide the waters.

What about us? Are any of us feeling like our backs are against the wall right now? Are we standing on the shore waiting for God to part the sea?

Take heart! Know that God will move on our behalf, but it almost never happens when we think it should!

We all need to trust in Him alone. We need to stop trying to make sense of every little thing that happens and stop trying to figure it all out! All of these things will cause us to question God and bring doubt and fear into our lives. Neither of these is from God, but from our enemy, the devil.

Let’s dig down deep and let God test our faith, and see what we’re really made of! It may not always be comfortable, but it is the best thing for us!

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-14-12

(Genesis 32:24-28 NKJV)  Then Jacob was left alone; and a Man wrestled with him until the breaking of day. {25} Now when He saw that He did not prevail against him, He touched the socket of his hip; and the socket of Jacob’s hip was out of joint as He wrestled with him. {26} And He said, “Let Me go, for the day breaks.” But he said, “I will not let You go unless You bless me!” {27} So He said to him, “What is your name?” He said, “Jacob.” {28} And He said, “Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel; for you have struggled with God and with men, and have prevailed.”

Jacob wrestled with the angel of God. He spent his energy to prevail. He did not rely on someone else to do it for him!

Because of Jacob’s persistence, the angel blessed him. Had Jacob given up, he would never have received God’s blessing. He would have limped away with nothing more than what he had before, except a displaced hip socket.

We need to be more like Jacob and so many others in God’s word who struggled, wrestled and persisted until they heard from God!

It’s not always about getting what we want. More often, it’s about pressing into God and waiting on Him, not making any moves until we hear from Him.

We can’t rely on others to do this for us. We can ask others to help us learn, but when push comes to shove, we bear the responsibility of building our relationship with God.

Press into Him. Pull on Him. Wait on Him. Do whatever it takes to know Him better and walk more closely with Him.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-13-12

(Matthew 6:34 NKJV)  “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

Each night, as we go out for our evening walk, we get to this one hill. Both of us like to jog up this hill. We love the way it gets our heart beating and we feel like we conquered it.

It is a huge hill and about half way up sometimes if I lift up my head and look towards the top. I find my breathing and my mind start to panic, almost causing me to quit at times.

I am often reminded that what works best for me is to keep my head down and only focus on what is in front of me, not looking to see how far from the top I am. So I’ll force my head down and literally watch my feet taking one step at a time causing my breathing and my mind to focus again. Before I know it, I am at the top of that hill!!

It’s like this with God. He gives us desires and visions within our hearts and we need to remember that these things don’t always come to pass immediately. It takes time, one step at a time.

In this day we live in ,everything seems so fast-paced. If we want this or that they make it so easy to get things quickly. We have to be careful we don’t get stuck in this mindset when it comes to God and His plan for us.

When God shows us the things He would like to do with us or for us we can be prayerful and focus on how He would like us to reach the goal on a daily basis. If we look too far ahead it can cause us to panic, stress, or doubt that it can even be done.

So take one day at a time because that is enough.
