Bible Verse of The Day – 6-1-12

(Heb 11:8 NKJV)  By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going.

Do you ever feel like you need to take a step, but you’re afraid because you don’t know what is going to happen when you do and you’ll never know what would have happened if you don’t?

So you just don’t move at all. In some cases it’s good to just wait. But, there are cases where you will have to take steps and move forward without knowing what lies ahead, especially if God is leading you to do so. He is not always going to spell it out for us… if He did where would faith come in?

Don’t be afraid to step out and go and do things you’ve never done before if God is leading you. Just make sure it’s God leading you and not your own will kicking in.

Some ways to tell if it’s God is that it does not bring confusion. No matter how hard it may be or scary it may seem, there will be a peace; a God-given peace.

Whatever God has you do will not hurt your marriage or your children. If you’re making a decision, both people in a marriage should be in agreement. God will not ask you to do something if it hurts your spouse or your family in any way. Family is important to Him.

Be careful, be sure it’s God and then trust Him to see you through!

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-1-12

(Heb 6:15 NKJV)  And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.

Abraham waited patiently for God’s promise. It wasn’t easy for him, but he did it. And he obtained the promise.

It isn’t always easy for us to wait, but sometimes this is just what we need to do… wait.

Waiting is probably one of the hardest things for us to do as humans, but if you really look at it, waiting patiently is a sign of our faith and trust in God.

If we get impatient and start taking matters into our own hands, we’ll probably get ourselves into trouble.

So if you’re in “waiting mode” right now, let God stretch your faith so that you can wait on Him and you can obtain His promise for you.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-28-12

(2 Sam 5:19 NKJV)  So David inquired of the LORD, saying, “Shall I go up against the Philistines? Will You deliver them into my hand?” And the LORD said to David, “Go up, for I will doubtless deliver the Philistines into your hand.”

David inquired of the Lord. He asked God, should I go up against the Philistines? What did God do for David? He answered him.

Are you looking for an answer from God today? Have you gotten your answer? If not, keep inquiring until you know what God is telling you. God is faithful to answer us just like He did David, and He will lead us in the right direction.

David asked God for direction. He didn’t jump out. He didn’t just try it and think that if it works then good, if not then I’ll know that I shouldn’t have done it.

The most important thing for all of us to know is that God is here for US! He will give us the answers we need. Wait on HIM and get His answer.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-26-12

(2 Th 3:5 NKJV)  Now may the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God and into the patience of Christ.

Patience. I doubt that there is a single one of us who shouldn’t be more patient at some point each day.

The world moves at such a fast pace these days. It doesn’t matter where we live. Everything moves much faster than it did 20 years ago.

This fast-paced world has sucked all of us into wanting everything instantly. Getting something quickly isn’t always bad, but it can have some bad effects on our lives if we’re not careful, because we forget how to wait for God’s timing.

Today, if you’re driving your car and get behind someone going slower than you think they should be going, be patient. If you get in a long line at the store or at the bank, be patient.

If something isn’t happening for you as quickly as you want it to, be patient.

Be patient. God knows what we need and when we need it.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-6-12

(Gal 6:9 KJV)  And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

How many of us are in a challenging season right now?

Everything in us is saying “when is this ever going to change? When will I get my raise? When will these people stop with their gossip about me? When will my child respect me and listen to what I have to say? When will my spouse pay attention to me? When, when when?”

Don’t give up… faint NOT! Don’t even entertain these thoughts. When they come at you, you come right back with “IN DUE SEASON”, because that’s what God says!!

Repeat these words: “In Due SEASON we shall REAP”.

We claim this promise over your situations today.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-10-12

(Gen 16:2 NKJV)  So Sarai said to Abram, “See now, the LORD has restrained me from bearing children. Please, go in to my maid; perhaps I shall obtain children by her.” And Abram heeded the voice of Sarai.

I suppose at the time that Sarai told Abraham this, she thought it was a good idea… a good way to either help God out or to make up for what she saw was God’s lack of action.

Have we ever done something like this? Have we ever gotten impatient with God and His timing and done something on our own because we just thought we needed to take care of it ourselves?

I can guarantee you that any time we’ve fallen into this trap and done things ourselves, instead of waiting on God when He has told us to wait, we’ve wound up in more trouble than we were in to start with.

Sometimes it can be hard to discern the voice of God and understand His timing completely, but as we draw closer to Him and begin to understand Him better, we’re less likely to make the same kind of mistake that Sarai made. And believe it or not, the entire civilization of the world is still paying for Sarai’s mistake, even today.

Let’s wait on God’s timing and learn how to make good decisions!
