Bible Verse of The Day – 11-18-13

Jude 1:20-21 (NKJV) 20 But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, 21 keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

Keep yourselves in the love of God.

Did you know that we are required to “keep ourselves” in the love of God? Many people might not think of this, mainly because there is so much teaching on God’s unconditional love. And while God does love us unconditionally, what Jude was referring to here is a bit different.

God loves us unconditionally, as we are. He sees us through the cross, not as the vile sinners that we are.

But what Jude was referring to here is how we, as followers of Christ, must keep ourselves close to God. He instructs us to build ourselves up in our faith, pray in the Holy Spirit, keep ourselves in the love of God and look for (trust in) the mercy of Jesus Christ as the vehicle for our salvation.

You see, it’s not that we must work to keep God’s love, but we must work to keep our love for God growing inside of us, so as not to let it fade away or die off.

There are so, so many things that can pull on us, moving us slowly away from God. And if we’re not careful, we will grow away from Him before we even know it’s happening.

We need to be diligent and keep our discernment razor-sharp so that this won’t happen to us.

Remember, God’s word says that if we draw near to Him, He will draw near to us. Our relationship with Him requires effort, and we will get out what we put in.

Press into Him.

We love you all.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-16-13

(Matthew 13:58 NKJV)  Now He did not do many mighty works there because of their unbelief.

It is those who believe and put their trust in Him that shall be saved, see miracles, healings taking place, financial situations changed, marriages restored, deliverances from demonic activity and changed atmospheres!

If we don’t believe, then these things aren’t going to be happening for us. It’s all in whether we believe or not!! We can talk the talk, but what it comes down to is this; do we really believe or are we just speaking it?

Do we know the language so well that we can convince ourselves that we actually believe just by saying it? It takes more than just saying it; we have to have a knowing on the inside of us that backs up our words, our thoughts, and our actions.

The gospel has been used and abused so much that it seems to have lost its edge. We need to bring back the edge, the reverence, the newness, the GREATNESS, and the FRESH Rhema of God, His HOLY Word!

What an honor it is that His Word is so easily accessible to us. Now we must take it and believe it in order for it to work in our lives.

(Mark 9:23 NKJV)  Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”

As we walk through each day, we need to take time to embrace this beautiful Word that was offered to us, by faith, through believing and receiving such an amazing gift given to us all. The Holy Word of God!

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-15-13

John 14:6 (NKJV) Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

No one comes to the Father, except through Me.

This is probably one of the most straight-forward statements in the entire word of God.

These words, spoken by Jesus, state very plainly that there is only one way to the Father. There are not two ways, three ways, thirteen ways or more. There is ONE way. ONE WAY.

There are so many religions and even so many Christian denominations that try to tell us that there are multiple ways, but this verse tells us undeniably that there is only one way.

No statue can get us to the Father. No ritual can get us to the Father. No tradition can get us to the Father. No special religious jewelry can get us to the Father. Nothing of this world and nothing made by man can get us to the Father.

Jesus doesn’t need any help when it comes to making a way for us to get to the Father. His death and resurrection were enough!

So please take a look today at what you do, what you’ve been taught, what you’re currently being taught and test it to see if it includes anything other than Jesus to get you to the Father. If it does, put it away. Embrace Jesus and let Him lead you to the Father.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-14-13

1 Corinthians 2:9 (NKJV) But as it is written:”eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”

There are times when I get so frustrated with the things of this world.

Whether it’s corrupt government, ridiculous taxes, human ignorance, human wickedness, corruption and idolatry in the church or anything else that we could all think of. Some days just seem like the bad outweighs the good by such a huge margin. It makes it truly hard to keep our attitude right and keep our eyes on the good things.

But I always have a knowing deep down inside that none of what we do for God while we’re on this earth is in vain. And this is one of those verses that just drives that point home.

No matter what we have to battle here and no matter how hard it can sometimes seem or how frustrating it can get dealing with human bureaucracy, know-it-all spirits or outright miserable people, nobody can ever take away the promises of God.

And he has promised us that no eye has seen and no ear has heard, and no human mind has ever even imagined the things that God has prepared for those who love Him.

And for me, that’s enough.

Press into Him, people of God. And never stop looking upward or moving forward in His name.

Amen

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-13-13

Acts 18:6 (NKJV) But when they opposed him and blasphemed, he shook his garments and said to them, “Your blood be upon your own heads; I am clean. From now on I will go to the Gentiles.”

As the apostle Paul spoke to the Jews and tried to convince them that Jesus was the messiah, they opposed him and spoke blasphemously.

God’s spirit told Paul it was time to move on, and so he did just that. There’s a lesson to be learned here for many of us.

Many times we go to someone and speak to them or try to teach them, only to find them resisting us very strongly. When this happens, we need to know what God wants us to do.

There will be times when He will prompt us to stay and continue to teach and preach. But there will definitely be times when He will prompt us to move on and leave them to their own devices.

It isn’t always easy to know when to stay and when to move on, but if we can learn this and hear God’s voice when He speaks to us regarding these things, we will save ourselves a lot of unfruitful labor and spend more time among those people who actually want to hear what we have to say!

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-12-13

(Mark 10:27 NKJV)  But Jesus looked at them and said, “With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible.”

God is a God of making the impossible POSSIBLE!

Putting our trust in Him will cause us at times to want to sing and laugh even if there is a storm in front of us.

Trust God today with your life. Don’t rely on yourself or others to get you through things. He wants us to know that with Him all things are possible!

If you are looking for help in your life, cry out to God He will do the impossible for you. If there is someone you know that needs help, cry out to God for them. He will do the impossible for them. God is faithful!

I have seen people healed in situations where doctors said they did not know if that person would even make it.

I have seen people’s financial situation change when they were struggling and couldn’t make ends meet.

I have seen people get picked for a job that they had no experience at, over someone else that was better qualified, just because of having God’s favor.

God can do the impossible! What is impossible for you today?

God can do it!

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-11-13

Ephesians 1:7 (NKJV) In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace

We have redemption through His blood.

It is His blood that sets us free from sin and saves us from eternal condemnation.

It is His blood that washes us clean and lets us present ourselves spotless before the Father.

His blood is something that is valuable beyond anything on earth or in heaven. There is no price that can be put upon His blood.

I dare to say that NOTHING can ever be compared to the blood of Christ. Nothing. There is nothing else known to man that can set someone free from their sins. Only the blood of Christ can do this.

But there’s a problem. The church has reached a place where it treats the blood of Christ as a commodity to be named and used in whatever way we see fit to use it.

We hear people plead the blood of Jesus over so many things… our homes, our cars, our money, our earthly possessions, all in an effort to protect them from harm. It happens every single day around the world.

Let me be bold and say something that needs to be said. This Needs To Stop.

The blood of Jesus is not an insurance policy to be used and tossed around like a cheap tarp that can cover our belongings and protect them from a storm or any other type of physical damage. The blood of Jesus is not something that we, especially as believers, should take lightly enough to claim or plead over anything, except our own souls!

So we want to remind everyone today that the blood of Christ is precious… more precious than anything else we will ever encounter.

Let’s be sure to treat it as such and not cheapen it with our selfish wants and desires. Amen?

Amen

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-9-13

1 Corinthians 2:14 (NKJV) But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

The human mind is incredibly created and intricately formed by God. It has unbelievable power and potential to think and reason.

But it can never fully comprehend the things of God. It just can’t, no matter how intelligent a person is.

The ways of the Spirit of God are so far beyond what the human mind can comprehend, it baffles us. We try hard to get a grasp of what God does and how He does it, but intellect and spirit just don’t mix.

This is the reason that so many people can’t find it in themselves to have faith in a God that they can’t see, simply because they can’t understand Him.

And so it is, that God has caused us to have to have faith in order to believe that He even exists.

It is only by God’s Spirit that we can find Him. It is only His spirit that can break down the barriers of human intellect and draw us to Himself.

This doesn’t mean that we have to be ignorant or uneducated in order to believe God or follow Him. It just means that we need to recognize the drawing of His spirit when He tugs on our heart.

Then and only then can we bow before Him in reverence and follow Him in true faith.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-8-13

Romans 1:16 (NKJV) For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes…

The gospel of Christ. What is it?

It is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes. It is the very thing that every single human being needs to hear. It is our salvation.

Are we afraid of this gospel? Are we ashamed of it? Do we openly acknowledge Christ, or are we “closet Christians”?

The world has turned Christianity into something offensive. So many nations are now taking away the rights of people, especially Christians, to express their faith openly. This is nothing new. It’s been going on for centuries, but in today’s modern world it is becoming more and more common.

Christianity is under attack across the globe, even as it explodes in some countries and regions.

So will we, the Church, followers of Christ, bow to the demands of the world and let them silence us? Or will we stand up for the One who died for us?

This is not a season for us to be silent. It is a time, regardless of what country we live in, for us to acknowledge the One who saved us from our sin, Jesus Christ, God with us.

Does this mean that we have to be religious? Absolutely Not! It does mean that we should show the love of Christ in every aspect of our lives. And when the pressure is on, we need not to be ashamed of who we are and Who we belong to.

Live out your faith, be bold and strong in Christ.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-7-13

(Hebrews 13:8 NKJV)  Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Hold onto to God’s Word, follow His statutes, and His promises and stand strong in His might!

What is changing? Well, the World for one. There are a lot of changes happening all around us right now that may have affected us to some degree. And if it hasn’t affected us, then maybe it has affected someone we know.

Changes can sometimes cause distractions. But remember that God is there with us no matter what kind of change comes, good or bad. There is NO changing He who remains the same!!

Change sometimes brings worry. What does worrying do? It wears on us, tires us out, causes us to lose our JOY. It can cause us to lose sight of what we are supposed to be doing.

Today, let us stand together in this changing world, and together may we hold onto the One thing that will never change; God’s Word to us!

Get close to Him, spend time praying, time listening, time loving on Him and time taking the necessary steps that are so important at this time in our lives.

(Hebrews 10:23 NKJV)  Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-6-13

(Luke 1:34-35 NKJV)  Then Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I do not know a man?” {35} And the angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God.

These verses still blow my mind to this day; the fact that Mary had a child, without being with a man. Her child was conceived by the Holy Spirit! What an amazing thing! There is so much in these verses.

You know, we hear about this and read about it and at times, because we have heard it over and over again, it seems so nonchalant to us. Do we understand what really happened here?

God in Heaven birthed His Son, for us, through a woman that was a virgin. The woman had a baby without ever having sexual intercourse with a man. Wow!

This woman was pregnant and carried a child, God’s child! This is a miracle. Jesus Christ was born to a virgin. The birth of Christ is simply Amazing!!

Our God is Mighty, He is Powerful and He is with us! He came to us in a way like no other!!

He is our Lord, “Special” and worthy to be praised! Hallelujah!!
