Bible Verse of The Day – 3-10-17

Proverbs 4:25 (NKJV) 25 Let your eyes look straight ahead, And your eyelids look right before you.

We have to work at staying focused. It seems that the enemy fights the most at trying to get us off track.

Why? Because if we know the direction we need to go and we stay on course, we will reach our destination. And we will have completed the race that we are called to run.

Winning any race that is put before us requires us to have accurate directions, and the timing is crucial. So staying focused is a BIG part of winning!!

Has God asked us to do something specific? Have we felt like no matter what we try, we can’t seem to get it done? Are there distractions that seem to come and take us off course?

Learning to shut off the distractions is probably one of the hardest things to do in this walk with Christ. Because every day, without a doubt, the enemy will fight us and try to bring up new and better ways to pull on us. Those things will tug at our hearts and minds and whatever else might work. If he can keep us distracted, guess what. He did his job and succeeded at causing us to lose.

Focus. Pull it together by simply saying no to the distractions, even if they seem like nice ones. If they are interfering with the plan that God has for us, they are considered a distraction.

Bible verse of The Day – 3-9-17

John 4:13 (NKJV) 13 Jesus answered and said to her, “Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again…”

As with most anything that Jesus said, there was always more than meets the eye if we study His words.

The same is true with his statement above; Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again.

Jesus was referring to water coming from a specific well. Or, in a more general sense, water from any well. That water will quench our natural thirst, for a little while. But we will become thirsty again soon.

We can also draw a parallel when it comes to material things. There are many, many things we reach for and grab hold of, hoping they will satisfy us. But in the end, they leave us feeling empty, and still longing for fulfillment.

It’s time that we take the words of Jesus seriously and long for the water that only He can give. He wants us to be fulfilled and satisfied. In fact, He longs for it more badly than we long for it.

And He is always reaching out to us, hoping we will grab hold of His hand and never let go. Because in the end, when everything is said and done, only He can truly satisfy us and remove those longings that we so desperately try to fill with stuff.

Revelation 3:20 (NKJV) 20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-8-17

Joshua 1:9 (NKJV) 9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

Titles don’t make us a good leader. We can have every title we want in front of our name, but that’s all it is; a title. A word in front of our name.

What makes us a great leader is the strength, courage and the truth we choose to walk in. What makes us a strong leader is having God-given wisdom, and the understanding to help ourselves, and others, get out of problems or situations and into a place of winning!

If we can’t help ourselves, how will we ever be able to help others?

The first thing we need to do is learn how to help get ourselves out of situations that are trying to pull on us and bring us down. We have to learn firsthand the steps to take to get out of problems and keep steady on the road we belong on.

Have we ever noticed that when we help someone, it is usually because we have been there and done that? We learned what it took to get us out of whatever it may have been, and move forward.

To get us past the problem, the hurdle or bump in the road, a true leader will lead, not by the title that was given to them, but by strength, courage and wisdom on the inside!

I have seen leaders with NO title at all, but boy could they lead.

Stop looking for a title and find the solution. Find the answer to turn things around and get moving forward. We are leaders in Christ.

God has commanded us all to be STRONG and COURAGEOUS! To not fear or be dismayed. He is with us wherever we go. Amen!

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-7-17

Proverbs 30:5 (NKJV) 5 Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him.

As we sat down by the water early this morning and watched the sunrise over the ocean waters, I was reminded of how blessed we all are.

Looking around at such beauty every day is just one of the ways that God reminds us of His love for us. Every day we can open our eyes and see His creation. Every day we can feel His love. Every day we can know how much we mean to Him, as we just open our eyes and look around.

Children of God, we are a blessed people. Enjoy today. Praise Him in all that our eyes can see. His love for us is so strong. He cares greatly. We can see it everywhere.

Trust Him with our lives. He is faithful to shield and protect us.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-6-17

John 4:42 (NKJV) 42 Then they said to the woman, “Now we believe, not because of what you said, for we ourselves have heard Him and we know that this is indeed the Christ, the Savior of the world.”

I love this! The fact that the people did not just take the woman at her word, but that they sought Him out and heard Him for themselves shows that they were hungry for the truth.

This is exactly what we, the church, need to do today!  We need to have Him in our lives, and moving day to day on a personal, one-on-one level.

We need to be seeing Him and watching Him move in our own situations. We need to lean on Him and cry out to Him to help us.

He will move in our own lives daily, hourly, minute by minute, when we hear His voice and we do what He tells us to do. Amen.

We believe for ourselves, not because someone told us to, but because we sought Him and found Him!

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-4-17

Psalm 73:25-26 (NKJV) 25 Whom have I in heaven but You? And there is none upon earth that I desire besides You. 26 My flesh and my heart fail; But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

Those busy seasons in our lives do come upon us at times. But if we spend the time we need with God, to sit, listen and rest, all that busyness won’t get to us.

You know that feeling you get  sometimes when it gets extremely busy? That overwhelming, get me out of here or I’m going to lose it feeling? God has a way of calming us right down and making that all disappear.

Just a little reminder today to make time for our MAKER. He will get us through it.

Our strength comes from HIM. Amen.

Happy day! You are loved and appreciated!

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-3-17

John 8:10-11 (NKJV) 10 When Jesus had raised Himself up and saw no one but the woman, He said to her, “Woman, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?” 11 She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.”

“Neither do I condemn you”. So many teachings focus on those words spoken by Jesus. And they are very important words!

But the last few words of that verse are equally important. And, sadly, they get left out most times when we hear this lesson taught.

You see, it’s important that we know and understand that Jesus did not come to condemn us. He came to save us. But He also spent a fair amount of His time here on earth teaching people how to live as righteous followers of God, turning away from sin.

Telling people to turn from their sin isn’t popular. Nor is it always easy to do. But it’s a necessity. And if we are never told or reminded to turn from our sin, we will never grow and mature as a believer.

And we all need to be reminded once in a while. Every single one of us.

So as we walk this narrow road, let’s remember that along with the grace and mercy of God, there is also growing and changing that takes place on our end.

Go, and sin no more.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-2-17

John 3:35-36 (NKJV) 35 The Father loves the Son, and has given all things into His hand. 36 He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.”

What stands between life or death for us? Only our own hearts.

Our hearts make the choice. We can either receive or not receive the truth; the very thing that will set us free. Each one of us has the most wonderful opportunity. And that is to have everlasting life through God’s Son, Jesus Christ.

This is the most precious gift anyone could ever have given us. Beautiful everlasting life forever. And not just with anyone, but with the One who loves us so much! The very One who gave Himself for us.

Isaiah 53:5 (NKJV) 5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.

When I think of this and I apply it personally, I literally get sick to my stomach at times when I think that a human being would go through what He went through because of His love for His Father and for us. This is mind blowing love.

This is what gives us the ability to become God’s son or daughter, by taking God at His Word, having faith and believing in His Son Jesus Christ. If we have answered yes to this, Praise be to God!!

The next thing we need to know is that God has a purpose for each one of His children. Are we letting Him change us and show us His plan for us?

Are we learning how to walk with Him daily and let Him guide our steps, so that we may accomplish whatever it is we are supposed to be doing while we are here?

Once we have given Him our hearts, and we let Him change us, the next thing we must give Him is our time. This may be hard at first, due to our pre-existing commitments.

However, do whatever it takes to give Him first place. It may take a little bit of time to move things around, but we can at least start working toward that goal.

Once we have given Him our heart and our time, our life will be more meaningful and peaceful.

God loves you.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-1-17

Psalm 34:18 (NKJV) 18 The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, And saves such as have a contrite spirit.

Do you have a broken heart today?

Has someone you love done something to hurt you? Maybe you have lost someone. Or maybe something else has happened that has broken your heart.

We’re here to tell you today that God is a healer of broken hearts.

Psalm 147:3 (NKJV) 3 He heals the brokenhearted And binds up their wounds.

There is no physician in the world who can heal your broken heart. But God can. As the verse above says, He binds up the wounds of the brokenhearted. And when God fixes something, He fixes it right.

He doesn’t take shortcuts or use shoddy materials. He is the Master at making things new again.

So if your heart is broken and bleeding, give it to Him. Let Him put His finger on your wounded heart and heal it like no one else can.

It may not happen overnight, but it will happen if we let Him do His work in us.
