Bible Verse of The Day – 2-17-19 – Fantasy and The Believer

Please click to watch the video now.Greetings in the name of our wonderful Savior!

Fantasy is a word that you won’t find in the Bible. But it’s something that can impact the lives of believers, and it’s something that we need to understand clearly from a Biblical perspective.

In today’s video, Fantasy and The Believer, we share what the Bible teaches about fantasy, even though the actual word fantasy isn’t in there.

We also share some stories about how we have seen this kind of thing impact the lives of other believers over the years.

We hope you’ll give this a watch, as it treads into some territory that many people don’t normally enter into, and we think it’s something that’s beneficial for the entire body of Christ.

Please click here to watch the video now.

Enjoy your day and be sure to tell God how much you love Him.

Sincerely in Christ,

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-16-19

Ephesians 1:7 (NKJV) 7 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace…

Redemption – the action of saving or being saved from sin, error, or evil.

Jesus’ blood was a spiritual sacrifice for us. It took His perfect blood to save us from our sinful nature.

God’s perfect plan of redemption came about by way of a virgin, through whom was birthed the perfect Man, with a  plan to sacrifice His life on the cross one day for you and me.

Hebrews 9:12 (NKJV) 12 Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption.

Eternal – lasting or existing forever; without end or beginning.

There is no end to this Salvation.

This is the richest, most excellent gift we could ever receive through His grace; the Son of God, Jesus Christ.

Dear God in Heaven,

Thank you for Your most Holy sacrifice for our sins, Your Son, Jesus Christ. Through His blood we have been redeemed. We repent today of our sins and ask You for forgiveness. Would You guide our steps in this life and help us to walk according to Your will for us? In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Psalm 85:13 (NKJV) 13 Righteousness will go before Him, And shall make His footsteps our pathway.

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-15-19

John 6:38 (NKJV) 38 For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.

Jesus came down from Heaven for one purpose; to do His Father’s will. Putting Himself aside and walking out His Father’s will demonstrates the most beautiful relationship that one can have.

We know each day our lives contain things that we have planned and worked for. We have made our own plans for what we want our lives to be.

What if we were to take one hour and give it to God to do whatever He wants with it? Maybe He wants us to pray, or sit and read. Maybe He wants us to go visit someone, call or text them. Or write a letter or card and mail it out. Maybe even go buy something that we know would bring encouragement for them today.

What is the Father’s will in our own personal lives? Are we afraid of what He may ask us to do? Would we put the things aside that we had already planned, and take the time to do it?

Beautiful relationships come from putting others first. Oh, how wonderful would the bride of Christ be if we, His people, continue to walk in Their example of what it is like to have a truly unselfish relationship.

Luke 22:42 (NKJV) 42 saying, “Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done.”

Can we say together, “Not our will Lord, but Yours be done today through us.”?

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-14-19

1 Corinthians 13:4-7 (NKJV) 4 Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; 5 does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; 6 does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

Loving someone the way God wants us to love requires us to first learn from Him what love really is.

What is His love like?

His love requires suffering at times. Yes, that means we may go through some hard times, even to the point of wanting to give up. And that suffering may not even be for us, but for someone else.

His love does not envy. In other words, if someone gets something that we have been wanting, His love will cause us to be sincerely happy for them. We won’t have to fake our happiness, but will truly mean it.

His love will not march around in an attention-seeking way; Look at me, I’m great, I have a doctorate in medical science, or I have a big ministry with a lot of people attending. I have a lot of money or property. Look how popular I am.

There is no rude behavior that comes from His love. It’s not OK to talk down to a waitress or waiter. It’s not alright to mistreat workers on the job, even if we are the supervisor.

His love cares more about others than it does for itself. His love can be overwhelming for our minds and hearts to comprehend. But if we work at chipping away the hardness that has built up in our hearts over time, we will find ourselves changing and walking in His Love more and more.

Take it one step at a time.

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-13-19

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV) 5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

As we walk through life we can face some pretty tough obstacles; things that might feel like they will rip our guts out.

These kinds of things will often have us questioning what we should do, which direction we should go. They might even cause us to question our faith. Not so much whether we believe or not, but whether we trust God fully with our situation.

These kinds of situations could range from problems within our family, to the loss of a loved one, severe financial distress, serious health challenges, and many more. It can vary widely from one person to the next.

But no matter what it is, the feeling of desperation and despair can be the same. It can cause us to feel completely hopeless sometimes.

So, what do we do? How do we handle this in a way that will actually help us?

Well, it’s not always the easiest thing to do, but the only real way to get relief is to stop trying to figure it all out and look to God for His understanding. And how exactly do we do that?

We acknowledge Him in everything. We put Him first, even before the very problems that are plaguing us. And we begin casting those cares upon Him, instead of trying to carry them ourselves.

1 Peter 5:6-7 (NKJV) 6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, 7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

In time, as we lean more on Him and less on our own understanding, we will begin to feel the weight of our burdens getting lighter, and our stress becoming less noticeable.

Then, as we listen for His leading, we are more able to hear Him and take the steps He is ordering us to take as He “directs our path”.

As we mentioned above, it’s not always easy to get started, but once we begin to get it, it will become more and more natural to us, and we will learn how to do this each and every day.

Trust Him.

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-12-19

Psalm 9:10 (NKJV) 10 And those who know Your name will put their trust in You; For You, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You.

How hard is it to get out of bed and start our day with Joy in our hearts and a beat to our step?

How hard is it to rejoice knowing that this is the day that the Lord has made?

How hard can it be sometimes to love on someone when our own situation keeps pulling us down?

It can be very hard if we try to do this on our own strength.

We can’t do what God has shown us to do on our own. We don’t have what it takes. Our emotions get in the way. Our pain and suffering tell us to do something else.

We walk the path God has for us, by what? By His Spirit.

Galatians 5:16 (NKJV) 16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.

If we don’t walk by the Spirit, the strength, discernment and understanding we need to carry this out is NOT there.

We can’t kid ourselves today. We live in a real world with real problems. We live in a place and around people that can make things very hard for us at times.

Don’t even think for one second that God has asked us to stand alone. Don’t think for one second that He has left us to take care of these situations on our own.

He will give us JOY, even in our trial. He will give us a song to dance to on the hardest days. His love will carry us through and we will rejoice as we put our trust in Him!

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-11-19

Ephesians 2:1 (NKJV) 1 And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins…

The single biggest miracle in the entire word of God is found right here in this verse.

We were dead. But He has made us alive again.

Our body was alive. But our spirit was dead; dead in sins and trespasses. We walked according to the ways of the world. We knew nothing of God and His ways. And we didn’t care.

But God, in His incredible mercy, snatched us from the hands of the enemy and made us alive through the blood of Christ.

As a young adult, shortly after Pastor Ellie and I began dating, I attended some church services where I began to hear about “salvation”. I remember reading a tract that talked about being “quickened”. I might as well have been reading Greek or Hebrew. It meant nothing to me.

Quickened? Doesn’t that mean made quicker, faster, speedier?

Not in this case, no.

Quicken: stimulate, excite, stir up, waken, activate, inspire, kindle, refresh, strengthen, invigorate, revive, revitalize, resuscitate

Resuscitate is probably the best one of those words to accurately describe what it means to be quickened by God as we put our faith and trust in Christ.

God resuscitated each one of us! He made us alive again. We were dead in sins and trespasses, but He breathed new life into us.

You He made alive. Amen!

Thank you, God, for making me alive again in Christ. Thank you for quickening me and not abandoning me as a lost cause as I wallowed in sin and darkness.

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-10-19

Please click to watch the video now.Greetings in the name of Jesus!

We are God’s temple. His word tells us so. We are the dwelling place of the Holy Spirit!

As the dwelling place of God’s spirit, He wants us to take certain steps to care for our temple.

In today’s video we talk about the things that God’s word teaches us about being a good representative, a good ambassador for Christ, and a good steward by caring properly for our bodies.

We talk informally today and share some things that we have walked through, as well as things we have seen others go through regarding caring for the temple of God.

We believe this will be very, very encouraging for those who watch it, so we do hope you’ll set aside a few minutes to check it out.

Please click here to watch the video now.

We love each and every one of you.

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-9-19

Jeremiah 33:6 (NKJV) 6 Behold, I will bring it health and healing; I will heal them and reveal to them the abundance of peace and truth.

I have been contemplating on the things that God has brought us through over the years, and even though I don’t want to revisit some of those things, it has been good for me to actually remember them and talk about it.

Just the other day, as we were recording a video and sharing some of the things that took place, I broke down and cried like a baby as soon as we were finished recording.

I had no idea why I was reacting like this and I was a little embarrassed. But thank God I was with my beloved Pastor Curt. He held me and comforted me through the tears. And he completely related to how I felt and got me laughing in the midst of it.

When we are going through a season of difficulty, most times we don’t get to deal with our feelings and emotions right then and there. We have to push them aside. We have to be strong and keep going. We can’t stop in the middle and have a meltdown. We have to keep moving forward, and try to get past whatever it is.

But the time may come, like it did with me that day, when God will give us a moment to really deal with the emotional part of it. Our feelings may show up out of nowhere and say, “hello, I’m here and I need to come out now; it’s time for healing”.

God will give us the time to deal with the different areas of our minds and our emotions that may have been affected during a particular season, so that we can be healthy, balanced and free from it all.

We may feel like we are in a thousand pieces all over again as we remember the pain of it, but this time will be different and healing will come through expressing ourselves.

Let Him bring health and healing to those broken pieces for good. Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-8-19

Ephesians 6:12 (NKJV) 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

In the verse above, Paul is helping believers to know that we need to be ready for what we will battle against.

He wants us to understand the importance of knowing that we are going to be faced with a fight. Things aren’t necessarily going to be easy for us just because we are God’s children. We will wrestle against wickedness at times. We won’t always understand why things are happening to us.

But God knows. And if we go to Him and stay in His word, He will keep us on our toes and on guard to the things the enemy would love to destroy us with.

This is why we pray and we read His word. We get as close as we can to God, through His precious Son. Why? Because we need to be able to stand, and keep standing.

When rulers of darkness come around and try to hit us, we can’t take them on our own. But with God, now that’s a different story.

Ephesians 6:13 (NKJV)13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

With God’s word in us, and as we stayed prayed up, we will be strong and ready for the battle. The armor is on and we will walk out of the battle with the victory!

1 Thessalonians 5:17 (NKJV) 17 pray without ceasing…

Amen

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-7-19

2 Corinthians 1:3-4 (NKJV) 3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

What are you facing today?

Are you troubled, distressed, mourning, or sorrowful? What kind of trial are you facing? Is it heavy to bear? Does it weigh you down? Does it feel like you may buckle under the weight and the pressure of it?

Does it feel like you’ll never make it through?

Let Him bring you comfort in your time of trial. He is the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort. He comforts us in our tribulation when nothing and no one else can bring us comfort.

Look to Him, lean on Him and go to Him. He will never turn us away or leave us feeling alone.
