Bible Verse of The Day – 11-29-25

Matthew 7:29 (LSB) 29 for He was teaching them as one having authority, and not as their scribes.

We are living in a time where things can be very difficult for believers.

We must truly pull on God for His words to be heard through us.

We may quickly spot things that are not right; we don’t have to look too far these days. And our response to what we see and hear is crucial.

We prove who we are by the reaction we give.

The Holy Spirit living in us is the same authoritative voice who will help us to excel in such reactions. We will even be shocked at times at what comes from our hearts. God is always ready for the right reaction that is needed, we just need to obey.

Jesus always had the perfect response at any given time.

Why?

Because although He was a combination of flesh and Spirit, He remained a perfect man through obedience. He spoke and did what He heard from His Father!

John 5:19 (LSB) 19 Therefore Jesus answered and was saying to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing from Himself, unless it is something He sees the Father doing; for whatever the Father does, these things the Son also does in the same manner.

Though we are not perfect, as Christ was, we are God’s children. Our words and reactions matter.

And if we allow Him to, the Holy Spirit, our Helper, will give us what we need at the right time. And we too will react to this world in a way that will help them see God up close.

John 14:16 (LSB) 16 And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another  Advocate, that He may be with you forever;

It’s not easy to live today in this atmosphere. And in these times it can sometimes make us angry.

So, let us always be sure to let the Holy Spirit guide us in our responses to the situations that we encounter.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-28-25

Titus 2:14 (NLT) 14 He gave His life to free us from every kind of sin, to cleanse us, and to make us His very own people, totally committed to doing good deeds.

This verse offers us incredible, unlimited hope!

Why?

Because it teaches us that Jesus gave His life, not just to offer us forgiveness, but to completely redeem and liberate us from the grip of sin – every trace of lawlessness, wickedness, and rebellion against God’s authority.

The blood of Christ doesn’t merely wash away the stains of our past sins. It has the complete power to break the chains of those very sins, removing their controlling power from our lives once and for all.

Take note of the word, every. This word covers it all. No sin or trespass is excluded.

This means that no bondage, no habit, no behavioral pattern, no form of sin whatsoever is beyond the chain-breaking power of the blood of Christ.

To fully grasp the point that Paul was making, it helps immensely to consider the Greek words he chose.

Paul did not use the most common word for sin, hamartia, which means “to miss the mark.”

Instead, he used anomia, which describes a state of lawlessness. This word literally means “living as though God has no authority.”

This points not just to sinful action, but to the root problem that drives the one bound by that sin.

In choosing this word, Paul drives home a powerful truth; the blood of Christ has the power to deliver us from every possible form of sin that tries to hold us in chains.

There is immense encouragement for us in knowing this!

No longer do we have to trudge through life feeling imprisoned by sin; helpless to break free from it.

Paul’s intention was to solidify the truth of Christ’s delivering power and drive that point home in the hearts and minds of every believer, reinforcing the fact that we should not perpetually wrestle with the same sin cycle; there is complete freedom in Christ.

So, if we are constantly struggling to break free from what holds us in chains, what do we do?

We surrender, wholly and unconditionally to the One who breaks the chains.

We repent, acknowledge our weakness, and pledge ourselves to Him in every aspect of our lives.

Because it is in surrender that we find deliverance.

It is in admitting our own weakness that we find strength in God.

And it is in giving Him our whole self that we finally discover the freedom that we have so desperately sought.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-27-25

Matthew 9:12 (NKJV) 12 When Jesus heard that, He said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick.

Let us pray for the sick, and when the door opens let us share with them our great Physician, Jesus Christ.

Let us tell them about His goodness, how much He loves them, and how He wants to help them through whatever they are struggling with.

Although the sick need help, some may refuse it. They may not want our answers. They may not want the help.

I have seen people refuse the answers many times and turn back to the sin that is killing them. All we can do is keep praying for them and keep showing them God’s love for them.

Admittedly, it’s very hard at times to watch.

Their are others who may want help, but they still want that thing that they are addicted to from time to time as well.

It’s a fine line with helping them, but the Holy Spirit will guide us.

The questions is, will we get frustrated and give up on them? Or will we have compassion for them, and wait on the Lord for His guidance.

Sometimes it takes years of sticking with someone, and it can be a “hands off and then hands back on situation.” We are there for a bit and then out of the picture for a while, to only come back in when they are ready for more help.

Luke 10:33 (NKJV) 33 But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was. And when he saw him, he had compassion.

This kind of compassion will keep us hanging in there when we don’t see any results or change. It will push us to go the extras mile.

It’s the same compassion God has for us. Let us put on this heart of compassion and walk in it strongly.

Colossians 3:12 (LSB) 12 So, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience;

Don’t give up. Stay in there. You are making a difference.

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-26-25

Hebrews 2:1 (LSB) 1 For this reason we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, lest we drift away.

This verse contains words that are important for us to understand, and important for us to heed.

This is a clear warning about being careful not to drift away.

Those are serious words that we must pay attention to if we care about our souls.

Our salvation is worth making the effort to pay attention to it—and to our attitude toward it.

Are we complacent about it? Do we treat it casually?

Do we truly recognize its worth?

God’s word was given to us to teach and train us, and to allow us to learn of God. This is not simply for the purpose of gaining knowledge. But to shape us and prepare us for His kingdom, and to walk out His plans here on earth while we have breath in our lungs to do so.

Yes, we need to learn and understand His unfathomable love for humanity.

But we also need to learn and understand what He requires of us, and what He desires for our lives. This includes chastisement, when necessary, just as any good father does with his children.

The message being referred to in Hebrews 2:1, above, is the message of salvation through Jesus Christ.

This message was spoken centuries before it took place. Many looked longingly for its occurrence. Others ignored it.

And those who ignored (neglected, rejected) it were punished. They missed their only opportunity for redemption.

Hebrews 2:2-3 (LSB) 2 For if the word spoken through angels proved unalterable (steadfast, true), and every trespass and disobedience received a just penalty, 3 how will we escape if we neglect so great a salvation? That salvation, first spoken by the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard…

So it is with us. We have been given the opportunity to be redeemed.

Some may flat out reject it. Others flirt with it but never embrace it. Still others dip their toe in the water, testing it but later walking away, deciding it is no longer for them, and never looking back.

The latter will receive the same penalty as those who rejected or ignored the message.

So, we urge everyone to pay closer attention than ever to the truth you have heard. And walk it out in your life, with the help and leading of the Holy Spirit, that you not neglect your salvation and drift away.

For as the scriptures above say, if punishment was dealt to anyone who acted in disobedience toward the message in past generations, how will we escape penalty if we also neglect so great a salvation?

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-25-25

John 10:10 (NKJV) 10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

In the enemy’s quest to kill, steal, and destroy, one of the tools he uses is drug abuse.

He tricks us by telling us it will make us feel good and forget our problems! But when it wears off, what are we left with?

A seed that is thirsting for more. And as we water that seed, it gets bigger and stronger in us.

I have to say that I have seen up close what alcohol and drug abuse can do to many people.

It is the enemy’s tool to make us think we can forget the things we need to face. Oh, how nice it would be to be able to turn it all off just like that, and forget everything that we went through.

But God did not call us to run from these things. And maybe it’s not meant for us to forget some of the things we have walked through.

Maybe God has a bigger plan for us to take what we have been through and use it in some way to bring good from it all and glory to Him.

If we would not run to the enemy’s tool, but let God help us through, He would give us wisdom and healing from that pain that eats away at us night and day; the sorrow that makes us sick and not want to get out of bed.

He will give us supernatural strength when we need it to get past those thoughts and feelings that hit from time to time.

The Lord is nearer to you than you would ever know. Give your brokenness to Him today. And, in return, He will give you life.

Psalm 34:18 (NKJV) 18 The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, And saves such as have a contrite spirit.

We are praying for you.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-24-25

Daniel 2:21 (LSB) 21 And He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and establishes kings; He gives wisdom to wise men And knowledge to men of understanding.

During the last 15 years of our lives, we have seen a slew of changes. Some were expected. Most were not.

Some were major. Others were subtle and not as significant.

Still yet, some were impactful in ways that could be deemed adverse or negative in nature. Some could be viewed as advantageous.

Some of these events brought about changes in our lives that caused hardship of varying levels.

These ranged from gut-wrenching to only slightly noticeable.

Some brought financial devastation. Others brought seasons of plenty.

But each one has taught us much. And we’d like to share that with you, with the possibility and hope that you might also learn from what we have walked through.

We have learned that no matter what we were facing, God was always there with us. He was the one constant that never failed.

And one of the most important lessons was to learn to let go of fading seasons; not to try to hold on to what was passing, instead of embracing that which was forthcoming.

Holding on to things that are passing only brings more hardship, and more emotional trauma.

And sometimes the damage wrought by trying desperately to cling to that which was passing was enormous and difficult to overcome.

So, with all that we have learned from our own changing seasons, we say to you today, let go of the old season.

That foot that is trying so hard to stay anchored in the old? Move it!

Pick it up and step forward into what God is ushering in.

Loosen the grip on the past. What has been will not be again. It was meant for a time… a fleeting season that we were meant to learn from.

Now we must look ahead. Walk or run with purpose toward what God is birthing and unfolding.

And trust Him with every fiber of your being, that He will show you what to do, how to do it, and the intensity with which to carry it out.

Obey Him with all your heart.

And watch what God does 🙏

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-22-25

Luke 6:38 (NKJV) 38 Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.”

I love these words of Jesus! Give, and it will be given to you.

How many times do we give to someone, and we don’t think anything of it? We just do it because it is a new characteristic in us since we became followers of Christ.

It’s now in our DNA, thanks to Christ living in us!

Philippians 2:3-4 (NKJV) 3 Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. 4 Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.

When we become believers, we will want to give more of ourselves than ever before. Our hearts will be more willing and open to the things of God than the things of the world. We will lift others up and look out for them and their interests.

And God is a giving God! He will give us what we need. He will bless us in every area of our lives as we obey Him in our giving.

Proverbs 19:17 (NKJV) 17 He who has pity on the poor lends to the Lord, And He will pay back what he has given.

Don’t be afraid to give. The more we give, the more He will give back to us in the same measure that we use.

Break free today from holding onto what we think is going to save us. God will save us from anything we face as we obey Him with our giving!

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-21-25

Lamentations 3:22-23 (NKJV) 22 Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. 23 They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.

God’s mercy is new every morning for us all.

The one thing we all have in common is that we need God’s mercy!

God shows us mercy and has compassion when we’ve done the most awful things. We all have had our share; and sometimes still do. We cannot deny it.

Thank God He is merciful!

It can be hard for people to understand and comprehend God’s mercy. Why?

Because in our hearts we have never shown tenderness toward those who have done us wrong. Instead, we want them to suffer or get the punishment we feel they deserve.

To want to see those who have done us wrong be punished is a desire of the flesh.

It’s only when we allow the Spirit of God to touch our hearts that we can sincerely want to do the opposite of what our flesh would love to say or do.

Showing mercy to others is something that we must truly desire, and in that we must allow God to lead us. Because without His strength of love working in us, we will struggle with this. It won’t be sincere.

The thing that helps me in this area is to remember the mercy, the compassion, the pity, and the benevolence He has shown me so many times when I didn’t deserve it.

Without hesitation He was there, with His arms open wide.

I keep it dear to my heart. And when I look at that one who is standing before me, and my flesh is saying, “give them what they deserve,” the Holy Spirit says, “remember what I did for you.”

Which voice will we listen to at that moment?

God is faithful in giving mercy. And we, His children, need to follow in His steps with all sincerity and love.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-20-25

Romans 6:1-3 (LSB) 1 What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin so that grace may increase? 2 May it never be! How shall we who died to sin still live in it? 3 Or do you not know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death?

Welcome back!

Yesterday we established the fact that maturing in Christ requires a sacrifice and surrender on our part.

Today, we will dive even deeper, discussing the kind of transformation that takes place as we further submit ourselves to the Holy Spirit and surrender to His will in our lives.

As we start this section, I’d like to interject with a personal note to testify as to the many changes God made in my own life as I learned of Him and my love for Him began to grow and flourish.

As a young boy, I knew little or nothing about God, except for the possibility that He existed, and that if He did exist, He had a son whose name was Jesus.

That was the full extent of my knowledge of God.

But after taking Him up on His offer to redeem me and make me one of His own (at the age of 20), I began to develop a hunger and thirst to know Him; to learn more about Him than I ever knew was possible.

And it was in learning of Him, and beginning to understand some of His ways, that I began to allow Him to change me. I underwent a transformation that still boggles my mind to this day.

It was not a work of my own doing—it was a Holy Spirit–led metamorphosis that made me unrecognizable, even to myself.

My foul language disappeared. My temperament changed drastically. The things I watched and listened to took a 180-degree turn. God was stripping away all that I had been and filling those emptied places with more of Himself and His ways.

I share this not to bring attention to myself or give myself any credit for this.

Yes, I had to put forth the effort and learn to obey His voice. But the Holy Spirit was faithful to be there and guide me every step of the way.

These changes do not earn our way into His heart. He already loves us.

But when we heed His instruction and begin to conform to the ways of righteous living, it brings about changes that go far beyond just the way we talk or behave.

These changes represent a deeper transformation; a replacement of our stone, selfish, hardened heart with a heart of flesh.

It is a heart that no longer beats solely for our own selfish wants and desires; a heart that now beats for Him, and longs to please Him in every way possible.

If you are in a place where you have claimed the banner of Christianity, but you have not seen your life change, or you feel like you have not submitted yourself under God’s hand, I invite you to surrender to Him today and let Him do a good work in you.

It is never too late. Let today be that day when you step across the line and give Him your whole self.

Amen 🙏
