Bible Verse of The Day – 8-15-25

Luke 5:8-9 (LSB) 8 But when Simon Peter saw this, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, “Go away from me Lord, for I am a sinful man!” 9 For amazement had seized him and all his companions because of the catch of fish which they had taken,

As we look at the life of Peter and study the events he experienced, we find several key moments where he received powerful revelations about who Jesus truly is—moments that profoundly changed his life.

In the example above, Peter witnessed Jesus providing him and his fellow fishermen with a catch that was unexplainable. It couldn’t be fathomed with the natural mind.

And when he saw what had happened, the reality of who Jesus is impacted him in a way that caused him to see himself as well; a sinful man not worthy to stand before the long-awaited Messiah.

Now, let’s explore another pivotal moment in Peter’s journey.

In Matthew 16, Jesus and His disciples discussed who the people were saying Jesus was. And as Jesus asked the disciples who they believed He was, Peter immediately spoke up, proclaiming, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

Another major revelation for Peter!

Jesus went on to explain to Peter that flesh and blood had not revealed this to him, but only by God’s Spirit had he understood this.

Again, another life-changing moment for Peter!

Peter’s ability to discern these things contrasts greatly with his various failures, showing that God was truly at work in his heart, slowly transforming him into the man God had plans for.

In John 13:6–10, on a third occasion, which gripped Peter in a way that defies words to properly describe it, Jesus was washing the feet of the disciples as He prepared them for what was to come.

The disciples were baffled that the long-awaited Messiah, the Son of God, would kneel and wash the feet of mere men who did nothing to deserve such an act of pure humility and servanthood.

And as Jesus approached Peter, Peter objected vehemently, telling Jesus, “You will never wash my feet—ever!”

But Jesus replied, “If I do not wash you, you have no part with Me.”

It was at this moment that Peter plead with Jesus, “Lord, not only my feet, but also my hands and my head.”

Peter realized the gravity of this moment and saw his error, receiving another Holy Spirit-inspired revelation of Who was standing before him, preparing to wash his feet.

You see, God has a way of catching us at a moment when we least expect it and showing Himself to us in ways that defy our human understanding.

And it changes us forever.

Let us learn to recognize the voice of God, even when it comes at the most unexpected moments, so that His will and purpose may be fulfilled in our lives.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-14-25

John 2:5 (NKJV) 5 His mother said to the servants, “Whatever He says to you, do it.”

Are you broken yet?

The day will come for us all at one time or another when we are broken on the floor and we are looking up, and all we can see is Jesus!

Because Jesus is the only One who can help us get up. He is the only One with the strength we need in that moment to get up.

Jesus is the answer, has the answer and will give the answer!

You are not alone when you feel so broken. You don’t have to fight this fight alone. You have already been given the answer for your problem. And that answer is Jesus Christ!

He will guide you. How? Through our Helper whom He has given to us as we put our faith and trust in Him!

John 14:26 (NKJV) 26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things,  and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.

What help are you needing today? Do you want the answer?

Submit your entire self to Him, and get up off that floor, broken as you are, and take that next step that He impresses upon your heart to take.

We may say well, “I’m afraid! I’ve never done it this way before.”

No, we haven’t. And it may possibly be why we still continue to be in the situation we are in.

Do whatever He tells us to do!

God bless you. Our prayers are with you. And you are on a road of healing and redemption if you follow His lead to the end.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-13-25

1 John 1:7 (LSB) 7 but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.

The knitting together of the body of Christ, even across great distances and in cases where people have never met, is something that the Holy Spirit has made me acutely aware of over the last decade.

Because of the nature of what we do, we have grown to know and love people that God has connected us with, even without ever meeting most of you.

It is a strange thing for my mind to grasp the fact that we could be standing right next to one of you somewhere and not even know it. It is even stranger still that you may know who we are, while we would be unaware.

But God in His wonder has bridged the physical gap between us by His Spirit. And it is in that vein that I would like to share a story to illustrate God’s miraculous power.

Several years ago, we had been receiving emails from a wife, asking us to pray for her husband who was battling some health issues.

We were praying for her, and for him. And we would receive periodic updates via email.

Some months went by, and she had informed us that his health was declining.

By God’s power, we were bonded to this couple despite them being on the opposite side of the world, quite literally.

As time went by, she updated us again to let us know that he was continuing to fail, and he was in great pain and discomfort due to his condition.

And then one day, while we were far away from home, while we were sitting down eating our lunch, another email arrived with news that he had passed away.

There we were, sitting in a very public place. And as Pastor Ellie read the news to me, I broke down and cried, tears streaming down my face.

I felt genuine sadness for a man and woman that we did not know, had never met, to whom we had been joined by God’s Spirit, thousands of miles from where we were.

This is the God that we serve, Who, as we walk in His light, joins us together in fellowship, even across the seas.

His power transcends everything our minds can comprehend. And His goodness is more than we could ever earn or deserve.

Let us give Him the glory and honor He so richly deserves as He works His wonders in our lives.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-12-25

Matthew 5:16 (NKJV) 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

What is the purpose of letting our light shine?

It’s not for us to be seen, but that our Father be glorified. It’s a sacrifice we need to be willing to make.

When life is going good, we are good! But we all know that trials come. And we don’t get to stop shining when this happens.

It’s part of growing and maturing in our walk with God.

We’ve got to keep our position…

Those good works have to remain good even when we are struggling!

They have to be seen even when we are tired!

We have to push through the chaff and let good works be visible even when life is taking it’s toll on us!

We won’t lie. it is very challenging.

Can we be steady in this even in times of difficulty?

Will we give it our all and then some?

Are we in a place today where we say, “I don’t have it in me, I’m dealing with my own situation and that light is growing dim?”

Today, is a good day to ask God for His supernatural strength to revive us.

Psalm 85:6 (NKJV) 6 Will You not revive us again, That Your people may rejoice in You?

Bring revival in our hearts once again, oh Lord!

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-11-25

John 15:5 (LSB) 5 I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.

Without Him, I can do nothing. In fact, without Him, I am nothing.

On my own, I am filthy; dirty with sin.

On your own, you are filthy; dirty with sin.

Our righteous acts have no bearing on our standing with God.

There is nothing we can do in and of ourselves to earn a right standing with God.

This sounds very disheartening, as if it is impossible for us to know God or receive His favor or forgiveness.

We might even get the impression that His favor and forgiveness are out of reach.

And in the natural sense, they are.

But though these things are impossible with man, with God, all things are possible.

Matthew 19:26 (NKJV) 26 But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

Despite this seeming so bleak, there is hope!

That hope is found only in the blood of Christ, which was shed for you, for me, and for all mankind.

And through that precious, perfect blood, our sins are washed away if we put our faith in Him and we repent.

And if we do that, we are no longer dirty. We are no longer filthy before Him.

When that pure, holy blood of Christ washes over us, we are made clean and holy in His sight. That blood makes us righteous.

It is the gift of God. And though it cost Jesus everything, He offers it to us freely.

And that distance between us and God? It is removed by that same blood, giving us direct access to the Father Himself.

So, fear not!

Know that if we have applied the blood of Christ to our life and repented of our sins, we have been made clean. No longer do we bear the stench of sin, but instead, we bear the sweet aroma of forgiveness and redemption in the name of Jesus.

Amen

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-9-25

Matthew 14:29 (NKJV) 29 So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus.

Life is full of surprises.

We know this because we have all had them at one time or another. Things are going great and then, bam, a storm hits!

During such storms we may be called out to take bigger steps of faith.

Think about Peter. The sea was raging when Jesus called Him out of the boat. It was boisterous!

It wasn’t in the calm waters when He said, “come.”

Peter stepped out of that boat onto that rough sea and He walked on that water.

Maybe you are in a place right now where the storm is strong in your life, and you are very scared.

Have you cried out for Jesus to help you? And when you did, did He say, “Come!”?

Matthew 14:30 (NKJV) 30 But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!”

Yes, those steps He has us take can be scary; steps we never thought we would have to take, and in places we never thought we would touch down on.

Brother and sister, just as He extended His hand to Peter when his faith grew weak, He will extend it to us. Latch onto it tightly. He will catch us.

Matthew 14:31 (NKJV) 31 And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?”

No more doubting; keep walking.

Dear God,

I am in a storm today and I need your hand to catch me. I’m trying to take the steps You want for me, but I’m tired and I need Your help.

Forgive me, Lord, and give me strength to keep walking.

My spirit is willing, buy my flesh is weak.

Matthew 26:41 (NKJV) 41 Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

In Jesus’ name. Amen

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-8-25

Proverbs 27:1 (LSB) 1 Do not boast about tomorrow, For you do not know what a day may bring forth.

The depth of this verse escapes us.

We get caught up in life. Time rolls on by. And we unintentionally forget about the seemingly small things that are important.

God gave each of us the breath of life. He created the beat of our heart. He miraculously knitted us together in our mother’s womb.

There would be no life without Him.

But how quickly we push aside the importance of each day, giving no thought to the reality that it could be our last.

Does that sound morbid or harsh? Does it shock us to hear it or consider it?

This can be true for many things. And sometimes we just need to be reminded of it, not for the sake of being shocked, but so we grasp it and take it to heart.

Our lives are short; much shorter than we truly comprehend.

And each lifespan is so vastly different that not a single person can claim to know how long they will live.

Some may live to “a ripe old age”, while others may live very short lives; so short that it may be deemed tragic by some.

And this is exactly why we must count every day as a blessing; a time to love those around us.

So, let us stay oh so aware of the fragility and the brevity of our lives, so we do not take for granted each day that God allows us to live and breathe.

And let us use those days wisely, to love Him, love others that God brings into our lives, and to bring glory to Him at every opportunity.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-7-25

Galatians 1:10 (NKJV) 10 For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ.

We will win at doing some things. But at other things, even as a believer, we will fail.

Thank God that He doesn’t give up on us the way people do.

Thank God He doesn’t walk away in disgust, or leave us laying on our backs, broken and damaged from our own mistakes, addictions, ignorance, etc.

I’m grateful today that no matter what state I’m in, He will still look at me and truly want to help me make things right. He will lend His helping hand no matter how far off I am.

Will our family do this for us? Will our so-called best friends be there in those moments?

It’s hard to know for sure. People get disappointed in others. And most times their first reaction is to get angry and grow bitter, causing them to walk away and leave us hanging.

Don’t let this get us down today. Just know that people will be people and that our efforts should be in pleasing God.

God is the One who is there for us more than any one person. He is there for us when we need someone the most.

He is a God of constant love, grace, and forgiveness. We need Him so much, and He knows it.

He is more than any friend or loved one could ever be to us.

Let us serve Him today, by acknowledging Him first in all we do, even before those we think are so important.

Proverbs 3:6 (NKJV) 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-6-25

Acts 8:18-19 (LSB) 18 Now when Simon saw that the Spirit had been bestowed through the laying on of the apostles’ hands, he offered them money, 19 saying, “Give this authority to me as well, so that everyone on whom I lay my hands may receive the Holy Spirit.”

The power of God is more than the human mind can comprehend.

It is mind-blowing when we see God at work.

It is even more fascinating and humbling when we see Him move on our behalf.

One thing that I have seen over the years is that seeing God move can cause envy and jealousy.

The power that is on display is something that can cause us to covet it if we are not careful, and we do not allow the Holy Spirit to check us and keep us in line.

Simon had this problem. He had witnessed God moving through the disciples. He saw lives changed. And he wanted a piece of the action.

This envy caused him to offer Peter money.

Being full of the Holy Spirit himself, Peter rose up and admonished Simon strongly.

Acts 8:20 (LSB) 20 But Peter said to him, “May your silver perish with you, because you supposed you could obtain the gift of God with money!

Just as salvation is not for sale, God’s Spirit is also not for sale.

God gives His Spirit to followers of Christ, as Jesus promised would happen.

As His followers, let us be careful not to take Him (the Holy Spirit) for granted. Nor should we forget that He is a gift from the Father, sent to lead, guide, and protect us.

Jesus said that He would ask the Father to send a Helper. And that is what the Father sent.

Let us walk in Him, that we may bear much fruit for God’s kingdom during our time here on the earth.

Amen 🙏

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-5-25

Mark 4:8 (NKJV) 8 But other seed fell on good ground and yielded a crop that sprang up, increased and produced: some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some a hundred.”

In order to accomplish a “good, grounded heart”, that heart must be teachable; a heart that wants to learn and go deeper. A heart that can receive and accept the truth, and which allows that truth to penetrate and do its work deep within us.

Jesus explains that those seeds that fell on good ground represent those who hear the word of God and accept it! They are the ones who bear fruit from the changed heart and understanding that comes through the leading of the Holy Spirit.

Mark 4:20 (NKJV) 20 But these are the ones sown on good ground, those who hear the word, accept it, and bear fruit: some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some a hundred.”

When we accept the truth, we will want to repent for our old ways as we learn that they are not the right way. We will willingly want to turn from them.

We may not always know how right away. But the willingness to try and start to get it right is there.

It is in us. We have accepted to change and follow God. As we allow the changes to come, our ways will become more like God’s ways, and we will bear His fruit!

Be that good grounded heart. Let His words penetrate us.

Amen.
