Bible Verse of The Day – 8-20-20

Numbers 21:8  (NKJV) 8 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Make a fiery serpent, and set it on a pole; and it shall be that everyone who is bitten, when he looks at it, shall live.”

The fiery serpent in this verse represents a plague that God sent onto the people of Israel as punishment for rising up against Him and Moses, complaining about the food they were eating.

The serpents bit the people, and many of them died (Numbers 21:6-7).

The ones that were still alive came to Moses, repentant and remorseful for what they had said and done.

They asked Moses if he would pray to God to take away the serpents.

In response, God had Moses make a fiery serpent out of bronze and set it on a pole. The people that looked at it and had faith would be healed.

This allowed the people to receive divine healing and not die from the snake bites.

Jesus later spoke of this situation, referring to Himself and how He too must be lifted up, and whoever has faith and believes in Him will not die, but be healed and live forever.

His Crucifixion on that cross had to take place if we wanted to be set free from our sins.

John 3:14-15 (NKJV) 14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15 that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.

When we see with the eyes of our hearts, and believe what Jesus did for us on that cross for our sins, we will be healed and saved from our sinful state, we will have eternal life with Him!

It is by His stripes we were healed. Amen.

1 Peter 2:24 (NKJV) 24 who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-19-20

Hosea 4:6 (NKJV) 6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge…

We are living in a time where we absolutely need to have knowledge and understanding.

We need to be incredibly discerning, so as not to be fooled by so many of the things that we hear and see. This includes the things we see in the world, and the things we see and hear within the church.

The world we live in has become a very dangerous place. We are being challenged every day when it comes to our walk with God and the way we see and perceive what is going on around us.

Without knowledge, understanding and discernment, we will be easily deceived and persuaded by wolves in sheep’s clothing, and possibly even by some who make no effort whatsoever to disguise themselves or their schemes.

So, wisdom is required as we learn to discern what we’re seeing and hearing, that we don’t become victims of the wolves in our midst.

Matthew 10:16 (NKJV) 16 “Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves.

We can’t let ourselves get distracted by all the events that constantly vie for our attention. Our focus needs to be solely on God and what His spirit is showing us and telling us during these times.

It can be difficult to understand it all. And this is why it’s so important that we stay close to Him, feasting on (devouring) His word each day and spending time communing and conversing with Him.

Church, this is not a dress rehearsal. It is not a trial run. We live in a real world, with real demons, deceitfulness, deviousness, wickedness and divisiveness.

The goal of this message is not to cause fear, but to prick the hearts of everyone who reads it, causing an awakening to come; to shake us out of our slumber and stir our hearts into action.

Press in to Him. Listen for His voice. And heed what He tells us.

He is our fortress, our rock, to Whom we shall cling and be safe.

Psalm 18:2 (NKJV) 2 The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; My God, my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-18-20

Matthew 22:37 (NKJV) 37 Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’

The more we love God, the more we will step out and do things with Him. The more we will give up for Him. The more we will obey Him.

That love will move us in ways we never thought we would move; to do things we never had the strength to do before and take on tasks that we would never dream of doing.

That love will call and we will answer, not by asking ourselves if we can do it, how we can do it, or when do we do it. But knowing that if it is what God has put before us, we will walk it out with Him accordingly, in the right timing, in the right way and with His wisdom, might and power upon us.

Love is a funny thing. It gives us strength and courage to step up to the plate when no one else will, putting our self aside and just focusing on getting the job done.

Everything we do will be more meaningful when loving God is our focus.

Joshua 23:11 (NKJV) 11 Therefore take careful heed to yourselves, that you love the Lord your God.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-17-20

Numbers 20:28 (NKJV) 28 Moses stripped Aaron of his garments and put them on Eleazar his son; and Aaron died there on the top of the mountain. Then Moses and Eleazar came down from the mountain.

As I was studying recently, I was reading through this passage and the verses before it.

The preceding verses tell of how God had told Moses to take Aaron and his son to the top of the mountain, remove Aaron’s priestly garments and place them on Aaron’s son, and that Aaron would then die there.

Earlier in this journey, Moses and Aaron had disobeyed God. Because of their disobedience, God had told them that neither of them would enter the land that He had promised the people of Israel. This was the price they would pay for their disobedience.

And on this day, Moses would see God keep His word, as Aaron died there on that summit.

Fast forward to today, we now live under grace. We don’t have to worry about God telling us to go to the top of a mountain and die there as punishment for not obeying Him.

This event, though, shows us the importance of obeying God when He wants us to do something. He takes it seriously.

Living under God’s grace doesn’t give us a perpetual permission slip to take these types of things lightly and do as we please.

On the contrary, as we obey God, it shows Him that we’re serious about our relationship with Him, and serious about pleasing Him.

And as we walk out the things He wants us to do, we’re doing it because we want to, not because we live in fear of being told that today is the day we will die for our disobedience.

Honor God. Put Him first. Do what He asks. And walk in His blessings.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-16-20 – The Need For Battles

Please click to watch the video now.Greetings in the precious name of Jesus!

Do you like battles?

We didn’t think so. Very few people do.

But, in today’s video, The Need For Battles, we teach on the fact that battles are necessary in many situations, especially if we hope to have victory.

In the video, we shed some light on various facts that often get lost or overlooked, but will help change the way we see the tough situations that we face in our lives.

We hope you will take a few minutes and watch it.

Enjoy the rest of your day.

Sincerely,

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-15-20

Joshua 1:9 (NKJV) 9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

We are all feeling the pain of where we are right now in this world.

It has changed!

Things are different, and we know it.

It’s not going back to the way things were. We are in a new day, a new season, and we need to let go of the way things used to be, moving forward in the way things are today.

We have to leave behind those things that once were. It’s over and done with, and now we need to find peace and rest in the place where we are heading.

If we continue to look back, church, that is where we will remain.

Keep looking forward. Keep pressing in. Don’t get stuck in the way things used to be.

We are all together in this, and we need to stand united. Find the joy again. Be strong and of good courage.

God is in control He is holding the torch.

Forward, March!

Nehemiah 8:10 (NKJV) 10 Then he said to them, “Go your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet, and send portions to those for whom nothing is prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord. Do not sorrow, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”

Find our joy in the LORD Today!

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-14-20

Numbers 11:33-34 (NKJV) 33 But while the meat was still between their teeth, before it was chewed, the wrath of the Lord was aroused against the people, and the Lord struck the people with a very great plague. 34 So he called the name of that place Kibroth Hattaavah, because there they buried the people who had yielded to craving.

The Israelites had a habit of whining.

It didn’t seem to matter what God did for them, they would whine and cry out to Him for something different than what He had provided.

On this particular occasion, they had mumbled and complained about having to eat manna for far too long. They wanted meat.

Their complaints irritated God to the point where He said that He would send meat. In fact, He said that He would send so much meat that they would eat it until it came out their nostrils!

Numbers 11:19-20 (NKJV) 19 You shall eat, not one day, nor two days, nor five days, nor ten days, nor twenty days, 20 but for a whole month, until it comes out of your nostrils and becomes loathsome to you…

And so, God provided Quail for them to eat.

Many of the people lusted after the Quail so badly that they literally stayed up day and night, collecting as much as they could possibly gather.

And this is where it gets interesting.

As the people who had so badly desired meat began to eat what they had gathered, while they were literally still chewing it, God struck them with a plague and they died.

Because of this, the place was named Kibroth Hattaavah.

Kibroth Hattaavah literally means “graves of craving” or “the graves of sensuous desire”.

It was their lusting, their sensuous desire for what they didn’t have, that brought death upon them.

This is an excellent lesson for us to learn from. It shows how lusting after something, even something that’s not sexual in nature, can kill us if we’re not careful.

It’s important to note that we live under God’s grace, because we are in the time of the New Testament (Covenant). So, we seldom see God move in this way, striking tens of thousands of people dead with a plague.

But He is still God. And He does not change. So, it is good that we learn from this and not play the part of the Israelites, arousing God’s anger over and over again.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-13-20

John 10:10 (NKJV) 10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

Why does the thief come? To steal, to kill, to destroy.

This is his sole reason for coming.

Knowing this, we have to keep him out and away from us. The Bible tells us how to do this in two words, submit and resist.

James 4:7 (NKJV) 7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

We submit ourselves, our problem, our flesh to God. And we resist the devil by obeying what God tells us to do in His word when we are confronted with temptation and sin.

It’s not easy to do at times. But it’s worth the effort.

Our flesh will fight, scream and cry. We will get angry, have an attitude and sometimes not listen to what God is telling us to do.

But, if we stand our ground, resist the devil and his attempt to pull us into sin, we will come out winning.

We will walk in this “more abundant life” that Jesus gives to us, and not look back!

Submit and resist; two words to remember every day that will give us a closer relationship with God.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-12-20

Numbers 33:52-53 (NKJV) 52 then you shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land from before you, destroy all their engraved stones, destroy all their molded images, and demolish all their high places; 53 you shall dispossess the inhabitants of the land and dwell in it, for I have given you the land to possess.

God is a God of promises. He promises His people that they will possess certain things. And He is very specific with naming those things.

And His people love this.

But there is a part of this that we often overlook. When God tells us to possess something that He has promised us, there is very often a battle on our part in order to actually take possession of whatever it is that God promised us.

That’s right. We have to fight for it.

And that part can be a bit daunting for us.

This is the very part that got the Israelites into a heap of trouble, because they began to doubt God when they learned that they would have to fight to inhabit the land that God had promised them.

What we need to remember, though, is that God doesn’t just toss us into the ring and say “fight your own battles”.

On the contrary, He fights with us. And as He leads us in our fight, He gives us very specific instructions to follow that will assure us of our victory. We just have to be sure to follow His leading.

We may still incur bumps and bruises. We may get injured in the process. And we may come out of it with scars. Victory frequently comes at a price. But it is always worth it.

And when God is our Commander in Chief, He will always lead us the way we should go.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-11-20

Numbers 13:30 (NKJV) 30 Then Caleb quieted the people before Moses, and said, “Let us go up at once and take possession, for we are well able to overcome it.”

Caleb saw things through his faith in God. The others were looking at it through their own eyes; their own abilities.

We get into trouble when we try to do things on our own.

We need to make sure that when we attempt to do the things that God brings before us, we do them in His wisdom, strength, and timing.

He will not leave us to do things on our own. He will make sure He is right there with us.

Will we see it only being done through our own strength? Or will we let Almighty God help deliver to us that which He has promised?

Numbers 13:33 (NKJV) 33 There we saw the giants (the descendants of Anak came from the giants); and we were like grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight.”

As soon as they saw themselves as grasshoppers and the inhabitants of the land as giants, their faith went out the window and they let what they saw override what God had told them.

In other words, it got into their heads. And at that very moment, they lost the battle.

Caleb saw it.

It wasn’t like he hadn’t seen what they all saw. He did see it. But he knew in His faith that God was bigger, and he knew that’s how they would win the battle.

We can’t look at things through our own sight. If we are facing giants today, maybe at work, maybe in our health, maybe in school, maybe in our finances, or maybe in our home, we can’t let it stick.

Know that God is greater, and it’s on His Word that we stand.

He is our shield, our hiding place, when fear tries to overwhelm us.

Psalm 119:114 (NKJV) 114 You are my hiding place and my shield; I hope in Your word.

We can take the giants out if we stand firm in our faith, allowing Him to be bigger in our sight than the obstacle we may be facing!!

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-10-20

Numbers 14:4 (NKJV) 4 So they said to one another, “Let us select a leader and return to Egypt.”

Picture with me, if you will, a very large group of people who had been slaves all their lives, subject to the whims of their masters, not able to do anything of their own accord.

They worked endlessly from dawn until dark, doing nothing unless they were told to do so. They had no freedom whatsoever.

Now, picture them being set free, no longer having to endure beatings, endless hours of back-breaking labor, and now being led, protected by and provided for by God Himself.

Sounds like a really good deal, right?

Arguably, anyone in their right mind wouldn’t want to trade this scenario for anything in the world.

But the Israelites did!

When they reached a place of being unsure of their destiny, they wanted to go back to slavery. Seriously! They wanted to trade their freedom for familiarity, even though it would mean giving up everything they had gained.

Why? Because their current situation was uncomfortable. It was uncomfortable because it was new to them.

They didn’t know what to expect each day. They had no routine, no schedule. And this scared them.

It scared them so much, in fact, that they would have willingly returned to Egypt and subjected themselves to slave labor just to have a little security.

Do we ever do this? Do we ever long to go back to an earlier time just for the sake of being in a situation or in surroundings that are familiar and a bit more comfortable for our minds, even though it usually means being far worse off overall?

It’s safe to say that we have probably all done this, or at least thought about doing it, more than once in our lifetimes. And many of us do it frequently.

The good news, though, is that there is a fix for this. It’s all about learning to trust God with our lives, letting Him lead us and guide us, without constantly questioning Him and asking Him why He’s doing what He’s doing.

This takes time to mature and develop in our lives. It doesn’t happen overnight. It also doesn’t happen if we don’t make the effort to grow our relationship with Him.

But when we do put forth the effort, we are rewarded with a flourishing walk with God and a faith in Him that stands strong even in the face of the most adverse situations, and a trust that can’t be broken no matter what we face.

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV) 5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.
